1. Introduction In this paper, I will intend to discuss the expressionism art movement appeard after Post-impressionism from 1905- 1933. First I look at the meaning of expressionism in general and in terms of art. Then I tell the expressionism art in a historian context and how it could become one of large modern art movement. I have a closer look at expressionism artists and their works in comparison with Impressionism or Fauvism. Finally I examine why the expressionism movement "died out around 1924" but influenced later art, such as Abstractionism, Abstract expressionism.2.
