In my culture (South Korea) there are not too many gardens or people who have their own gardens so when I researched the gardens for my essay, I was enjoy to visit the gardens because I have new experiences, knowledge and information about gardens. I think that this kind of experiences and knowledge will help me when I make the big space design with flowers or chooses the color in my arrangement. I visited 3 gardens with my friend. One is Japanese Tea Garden. It was my first time to visit to Japanese Tea Garden. The Garden is just beautiful and I think that it is very organized.

Essay – Of Mice and Men.I found the great book that the title is Of Mice and Men. If you read this book on an airplane, you have great time. In Of Mice and Men, Lennie and George are old and great friends just like you and me. They are traveling together and both migrant workers. Lennie, who is mildly mentally challenged, finds comfort is soft things such as a dead mouse in his pocket. Although George appreciates having Lenny to talk to, he finds that Lenny's propensity to get into trouble regularly becomes a problem and forces them to move much more than they would generally need to. One day, Lenny murders one of the worker's wife accidentally and finally George have to kill Lennie because he doesn’t want his friend killed by strangers. In Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie show the special, unique and deep friendship that we always want to show each other.One significant way George and Lennie support each other is how they work together. In the beginning of the novel, George says “We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us” (Steinbeck13). This quote shows how George and Lennie rely on their relationship to carry them through challenging times. At this time in the book, they needed a job. Even though they were in a bad situation, they knew they had each other to talk to and get through it together. Because they are such good and deep friends, they both contribute in helping each other and give each other hope. George says “When his Aunt Clara died, Lennie just come along with me out working’” (Steinbeck 37). This quote is how Lennie works along with George. Both George and Lennie have individual qualities that make them a good combination. George has the brain and intelligences, and Lennie has the strength and physical tools. Their situation is similar with us. You are very meticulous but I’m not. However, I’m is quick to handle things but you are slow. When we work together, we each benefit from one other. George and Lennie are same like us. They are supporting each other in their friendship by working and traveling together.George showed strong support for Lennie time after time after he messed up and got into trouble. After Lennie accidentally kills Curley’s wife, he and George are conversing when George comforts Lennie by saying “I ain’t mad. I never been mad, an’ I ain’t now. That’s a thing I want ya to know” (Steinbeck 99). This quote confirms that George had never gotten mad at Lennie ever for messing up. The fact that George isn’t mad at Lennie, proves that their friendship is special. True friends are accepting, which is exactly how George is with Lennie. George accepts that Lennie has a mental disability, and that he is going to make mistakes. Even though George suffers from the mistakes, like losing his job, he still doesn’t get angry at Lennie.My friend, I hope that you like the story and someday our friendship become more and more deep and special such as George and Lennie’s friendship..

Essay- Naver LearnNever LearnRecent advances in today’s technology has been changing deeply our society such as our habits, attitudes and our management of time. There are advantages that technology give us access to good resources and save us time. However, simultaneously, there are disadvantages that technology are the influence it on student’s lives because technology is a distraction to students (i.e. your children) while they are studying. For example, they keep checking messages using their smart phones or computers while doing homework or even sitting in class has become common behavior among the children. Nowadays, the children and their devices have become virtually inseparable. The children might think they can multitask easily when they do homework but that’s not multitasking. In fact, that’s “switching”. The children are switching one task to another and not spending enough time to focus on each task. This is an important issue of education these days. Therefore, if you wanthink that multitasking is just performing more than one task at the same time. But, multitasking is not a simply to explain because multitasking is only possible if two conditions are met. One is that the brain doesn’t need to focus or thought. The brain need to work automatically. Another is that human is used by the brain in very different ways (Taylor 5). The research indicates that “children can study effectively while listening to classical music because reading comprehension and processing instrumental music engage different parts of the brain. However, the ability to retain information while reading and listening to music with lyrics declines significantly because both tasks activate the language center of the brain” (Taylor 5). If your children are reading books, burning a CD and telling her mother that she’s doing schoolwork all at the same time but, it doesn’t. Actually, her brain really going is a rapid toggling among her tasks. Neuroscientist Grafman says “You're doing mork to another at a time, they take more time to complete their study. In fact, research indicates that “your children might feel like they are working their tasks completely at the same time but actually it is not true because their brains are getting lagging and taking up to 40 percent more time than single tasking (Taylor 6).Furthermore, Basically, people’s ability of multitasking is a limit, so when people to do two or more tasks at a time, they’ll make mistakes or errors a lot because it takes far longer to complete their tasks. David E. Meyer says “The toll in terms of slowdown is extremely large--amazingly so"(Wallis 10). Some multitaskers insist that that they are good multitaskers but, unfortunately, that’s not true because they make more slight mistakes such as errors of grammar, punctuation, spelling and calculation mistakes when they multitask. According to the 2010 study that “perhaps the most surprising result: those who consider themselves to be great multitaskers are in ftasks analogous to multitasking than those self-rated as infrequent multitaskers” (Taylor6). For example, if your children study final exams while watching movies or listening radio, they will be very hard to get good grades because they’ll make small mistakes easily. A study shows that “the median length of time that they looked at television and their computer was two and six seconds, respectively. Given this level of distraction, you wonder how children ever learn or get anything done while studying” (Taylor 6). You remember that multitasking makes your children’s brain to an excessive state and is difficult to focus while doing schoolwork.What can you do for your children as parents? These day, it is so hard to stop using technology to the children while taking classes or doing homework. The research indicatesthat “Such concerns have, in fact, led a number of schools, including the M.B.A. programs at UCLA and the University of Virginia, to look into blocking Internet access during have good study habits. Here are some solutions. Frist, the parents can set boundaries for your children. For instance, you and your children can discuss when multitasking is acceptable and when it isn’t. While your children doing schoolwork, they have to avoid multitasking. Second, you try to get rid of technology distractions while your children studying. This way, your children won’t get any interruptions by incoming texts or social media notifications. Finally, I also recommend that you create good study environments for your children. A study area is of course important to remove digital devices and also need to clear all other distraction such as removing unnecessary objects, cleaning up clutters on the desk and keeping everything in the right place. Essay- Nature in EmersonNature in EmersonIn his essay Nature, Ralph Waldo Emerson writes about how we reflect on solitude, the star, and the grandeur of nature, experiencing a connection with natural and one that connects him to God. He is a preeminent transcendentalist writer. Known for his interest in the individual, mysticism or transcendentalism. He finds the divinity, peace and beauty from the nature, and then he feels a sense of oneness with the natural world. Simultaneously, he discovers the oneness flowing through nature and shares it using his Nature essay. Emerson displays the overwhelming sense of unity and the blending of mans identity with the divine of nature.Emerson concerns initially with how we reflect on solitude, the stars and the grandeur of nature. Emerson explain that in order for someone “To go into solitude, a man needs to retire as much from his chamber as from society” (8). In the sentence, Emerson explains it quite clearly. he writes, “retire from society” (8), it means that physically separate ourselves from other human beings. Simultaneously, he emphasizes the importance of “retire from chamber” because it means that get out of our room of house. In other word, to get away from society and the business of life a person needs to not only depart from other people, cities, business, but also remove themselves from the comfort of their bedrooms and find a spot in the mountains or some where in nature to fully realize beauty of solitude.In Emerson’s “Nature” the star signify solitude. Emerson point out “But if a man would be alone, let him look at the stars…Seen in the streets of the cities, how great are they!” (8). Emerson states that when a person want to be alone, they can look at the star and admire them for that they are unattainable. People cannot pull them down or change them to meet our needs. We are alone as we will ever be by looking at the stars. Emerson believes that the nature can offer the opportunity of true solitude.Emerson shifts and seems to be saying that the stars are higher and more beautiful than us, indicative of a purer state of being. This goes to the very heart of transcendentalism.He mentions that “The stars awaken a certain reverence, because though always present, they are inaccessible; but all natural objects make a kindred impression, when the mind is open to their influence” (8). It basically means that things that are inaccessible awaken a deep respect. However, because the starts are part of the universe, if our mind is open to them we can feel “one” with them. Once again, no matter how inaccessible or awe-striking nature is, its still a part of us. The only thing we have to is be open-mind enough to let it be a part of us.Emerson tries to attain through talking about the “poetical sense” (8) of looking at nature. He explains that “It is this which distinguishes the stick of timber of the wood-cutter, from the tree of the poet” (8). He takes two examples to explain how a poet sees the nature world so he talks about the wood cutter who only sees “a stick of timber” (8), whereas the poet should can see the real “tree” (8). In other words, the poet should be able to “integrate” all of human divisions and also can see nature world in its wonderful entirety.Next, he explains that persons who can see nature. Emerson doesn’t mean that adults are literally blind to nature, but rather that their sight is shallow, because they see with their eyes only. But, children are not. Children can see with both their eyes and heart. If people is a true lover of nature, they still retain the childhood sensibility in adulthood. Also, they can make a wild delight experience in the presence of nature. According to Emerson’s essay, wood have a profound effect on man. The woods transform us back into a child as they provide eternal youth. He states that “In the woods, we return to reason and faith” (8). The woods impart reason and faith to us by making us feel of a large body, God, and thus make mundane feelings and worries seems pointless. Also, woods provide a sense of the harmonious relation ship between nature and man.Emersion’s Nature is philosophical. He makes to open our mind toward the nature world and remind us to world, in most cases, forgotten. The isolation of humanity from its natural world and the loss of mans connection to it, creates a widening crevice between man and the unison of mans individuality with nature. In his Nature essay, we can realize that what we need to see or feel in nature is only what we are able to perceive, and, mostly, it is dependent on our mind and sensitivity to it. Q. Is it important for societies to try to save languages that are in danger of disappearing?I often heat that people should protect endangered animals from many medias like the news, broadcasting, newspaper, and internet. And there are some people who don’t wear an animal’s leather, or don’t eat any meat for saving animals. I understand their behavior and claim. But, I have almost never heard anything about saving languages that are in danger of disappearing. And, before I read some articles and write this essay, I didn’t know that there are many endangered languages in the world, and also this endangered languages is very important to us, because when people save languages, people can get new knowledge and information. Also, people can keep traditional culture and customs when they save endangered languages. Therefore, people always try to save languages that are in danger of disappearing like people who try to protect endangered animals.When people save languages, they also can get royo said that an 87 percent of world’s plant and animal types still need to be identified, named, described, or classified by modern science. It is good news because it means that people still have the chances to cure incurable diseases like cancer, Leukemia, and so on. But, if people don’t save languages that are in danger of disappearing, they can’t get any knowledge and information that were first knowns to indigenous people for their healing properties. For instance, the Bari language is one of the endangered language, because they have only 1,500 to 2,500 speakers who live in a close relationship with the rainforest, so they really know many type of the plants for food, material goods, construction of house, and medicine. For another example, one scientist, the named Plotkin, said that there are many type of plants to cure people’s diseases in the Amazon rain forest. And also, there are some of traditional healers or medicine men, named shamans, who have knowledge that can treat e and money to get information. That is completely inefficient. Therefore, we have to work very hard to protect or keep languages that are in danger of disappearing. Saving languages is a sensible investment for us.When people save their own language, they also can save and keep their own culture, because languages are mirror of cultures, so if people preserve languages that are in danger of disappearing, then people also preserve the immense variety of cultures that exist. I really understand how much languages are closely related to cultures though my past experience. When I studied Chinese at university in Korea, one day, my professor told his students that sometimes learning other languages take all people’s life if they want to speak perfectly like native speakers, because if people can speak other language perfectly, it means that they understand other culture perfectly too. After I listened his saying, I awarded that language is one of the big cultural heritages, so if people lonority is in danger of disappearing in 2013. The Manchus has their own language, Manchu script is totally different from Chinese character. The Manchu ruled china into the 20century. It means that they have a long history and a deep-rooted tradition, but their languages is nearly extinct now. Wei is a teacher who teach to students Manchu language that is in danger of disappearing. He always tries to save and keep Manchu from disappearing completely, because he thinks that if Manchu language disappears, so much will be lost. He believe that languages are the soul of a culture, so people would never real understand Manchu culture and history anymore. I believe that language and culture are inextricably linked, and when a language disappear, next generations may lose a vital part of the culture that is necessary to understand it, so people should try to save languages always .Todays, People already lost many kind of languages, but, unfortunately, people might lose more languages in the nethe survival of a language specially child. For example, when people moved from their home into new place, they might have to learn the language of the new area to adapt first, and then they gradually lose their own language. For any reasons, it is true that people have to try to save languages that are danger of becoming extinct, because when a languages vanish, the knowledge, information also fade away and ability to understand the culture who spoke it is vanish too, because there are no long transmitted between native speakers. I have some ideas about the best ways to save languages. One of the best way is to keep trying younger generations to speak the language when they grow. So, after they grow, they will teach their children the language as well. Another way is to use technology. I think that if people use the same techniques that they used in recording history for saving languages, it will be big helpful for saving languages. There are some techniques to preserve languages suchty.
