Going abroad at an early ageIn the age of globalization, importance of English is becoming bigger and bigger. No matter what I do, English is a necessarily required. For example, if we want to get a job, we have to submit English test score like TOEIC or TOFLE and English is the one of the most important subject on College Entrance Exam. From these trends, many children go abroad to study English even though they have no conception about who are they and what the English is. Today I want to talk about negative sides of going abroad at an early age in terms of identity and financial aspects and alternatives for these issues.First of all, students who go abroad at an early age have an identity crisis. If they go abroad in early age, the speed of acquirement English might be fast. However, some children suffer from confusion of their identity. The children who go abroad are just 6 or 7 years old that mean the fluency of Korean as their mother tongue is not perfect. In case of difficult sentences of Korean, they would not understand what that means. Not mastering Korean, studying only for English might be a dangerous choice. Also According to the TV program that I watched, the children who go abroad in early age tend to be on the outside in their foreign school. They sometimes can’t adjust their school life which is totally different from Korean school. In there, they study with classmates who have totally different appearance and peak in other language. And it might confuse who really they are. The children are the age that establishing their identity. But the children go abroad in early age even can’t do these basic things. It is very sorrily reality.Second is a financial aspect. Going abroad is sometimes considered the privilege the son or daughter of the rich. That says going abroad take lots of cost. The parents who send their kids go abroad have to lease the house, pay school expenses and even search an assistant for their children because they are too young to do everything in their own. But the problem is that the parents who even don't have much money try to send their kids to abroad. After letting their son or daughter go abroad make the rest of family lead a life of poverty for many years. For example, these days there is a coined word, “goose father” which represent a father who send their wife and kids to abroad for studying and live alone. The financial problem as well as their loneliness is a kind of burden for many goose fathers. This word, only itself can explain how this issue is destructing family and individualities.Therefore, other alternatives are needed. There are enough ways to learn English in Korea not going abroad. Actually I saw many people who are very fluent in English even though they have never gone abroad. There are many English materials in the internet. For example News of English languach country can be read from internet such as “New York Times”, “NPR” and “BBC”. Also Facebook or Skype is good way to communicate with Native speakers and even can make international friends. In addition to this, not only in abroad but also in Korea, there are many educational institutes with enough good system. Actually, some academic schools like “Hackers” or “Wallstreet English” introduce curriculum almost as same as English-speaking countries. Also many English camps are held many times. In case of me, I have ever experienced English camp in Pa-Ju English-village for a few weeks. I had learned a lot of skills of writing and communication of English. Most of all, that camp make me motivate to have interest of English. Like this, there are many ways to learn English not go abroad wasting money.It is true that studying English is unavoidable choice to keep pace with globalization. However, if kids didn’t prepare to adjust new world and their parents are not affordable to support them, going abroad in early age have to be reconsidered. Someone said now is the war of information. And who acquires good information through good source will be winner. Many ways studying in Korea such as internet material, good institution and English camp in Korea can enough to help improve English. Comparison of Cyworld and FacebookThese day SNS(Social Networking Society) like “Cyworld”, “Facebook” and “Twitter” is in popularity all over the world. In case of Korea, the number of “Cyworld” users has continuously increased more than 20,000,000. And it might be affected by the smart phone which is available to access wireless internet. So based on this trend, I will compare two famous SNS Cyworld and Facebook representing each Korea and USA.Firstly, for Basic information, both Cyworld and Facebook is made from University, Each are Kaist University and Harvard University. It can find its meaning that Both university are representing University of each country with core brain. However, in terms of scale, Facebook have much more users, that is almost three times. Facebook is usually used by all over the world, on the other hand, Cyworld is just famous in Korea. Despite this fact, cyworld is beloved by most Korean.Second is in Design aspect. Both SNSs have basically blue kind color. But the difference is that facebook cannot be changed, but Cyworld can be changed. Facebook has basic frame and it is fixed that means every user do facebook in same condition of design. On the other hands, Cyworld is very flexible. Users of Cyworld make its design for themselves. In the Cyworld network, there is a electronic currency called acorn. Users can buy many items like background image, font and music. In other word, Cyworld is kind of their own creation.Thrid is in functional aspect. In case of facebook, there is basically Wall, Profile, Newfeed. Each friend writes what they want to say on the wall and they introduce themselves through the profile including many information or Photo. And In Newfeed, user can know their friend’s updating such as wall posting and comment of Photo. It is similar with Cyworld. Cyworld also have profile, Photo, visiting wall. However, cyworld has one more thing different from facebook. That is Nateon service. Facebook also have chatting system but this is not complicated as much as cyworld. Nateon is a kind of Messenger like MSN, Yahoo messenger. Because Cyworld and Nateon always link each other, Nateon is also considered a part of Cyworld.Except for these things, the special thing of Facebook is a tag system of Photo. Even though photo is not existed in my album, it is possible to see my photo as long as I’m tagged by other friends. And it is very useful in case that I know the appearance but not name. And in case of Cyworld, before uploading the photo, users can decorate their photo for themselves. For example, they can draw something on their photo and put stickers on even skin color can be corrected.Like this, each SNSs have their own advantage. Maybe it reflects their second nature. For example American usually has disposition of efficiency and speed and comfortation. On the other hand, Korean pursues to sophistication and design and customization. Treasures I meet in USA

For example in Vietnam, they still think most their property are from government not their endeavor. And in their country it is not allowed to access social media such as Facebook and Cyworld because of control of government. I was a little shocked at first, but later I recognized the difference of each country. Like this, I met lots of good people and learned many things in USA. And it became my precious treasures in my life. Even though I’m in Korea, I try to keep in touch with them through Facebook and Skype to keep these good relationships. It doesn’t matter I’m in Korea or USA. I want to build up this friendship continuously.

Relationships for Korean UnificationThere is an old Korean Saying“A shrimp gets crushed to death in the fight between whales.”This Saying expresses Korean situation well. The main reason that Korean peninsula has been separated over the past years was from Cold War. Two strong countries representing wales, Soviet Union and USA brought about tension of Korean peninsula. Although the process of cold war was finished, it was failed to make one Korea. And at the result, for more than a century, two Korea has been separated. And by times go, gap of two Koreas has been bigger and bigger. Therefore, reunification should be come true for peace of peninsula before it is too late. However, nowadays, reunification is not being considered as serious issue among young people. And they even have no idea that two Korea’s origin is from one dynasty and we share the same blood. Therefore, to arouse national consciousness and to follow the globalization, I will write about relationships with other counters but also be curse like shrimp that I mentioned above. Therefore, in the aspect of Korean reunification, approach with our neighbor foreign country such as USA, Japan, China and Russia is important to resolve this issue of Korea Peninsula.First is the United State. Without a doubt, The United States remains the most affective country on the Korean Peninsula. Although The United States seems to be big geographic distance, The United State has been called as neighbor like other country, Japan and China because the United States has helped growth in many aspects like economy and politics for South Korea from long time ago. Actually thanks to the united Korea’s aid as investment, South Korea has become liberalized and condition of economy finally ranked 20 of GDP according to a research of IMF. This is a miracle which took place in South Korea. Not only South Korea exports more 40 percent of domestic production but also South Korea became large exporter in the world trade area. (Dujarricts Japan’s Security and presents a very serious situation of concern” and that “Japan must reconsider its policy toward North Korea and take stringent responses in a firm manner”As that saying shows this “Taepodong” shock made aid of Japan difficult for unification of Korea. And from this incident, Japan even decided to develop its own spy satellite system to improve to monitor.Therefore, we should try for Japan to remove unfavorable emotion toward North Korea, and use other advantages from Japan effectively for unification making policy in various method at the government level.The Third our neighbor country is china. As everyone knows, the combination of history, culture, geography, political status china is the most fast-growing country which can affect Korea reunification. There are many titles of China. First of all, China is famous for world’s most populous country (nineteen times the population of the two Koreas). And it also boasts continental size as the world’s second largesand South Korea which was rapidly developed for short time. That means if North and South become one Korea, Russia will be advantage from Korea which will be hub of trade. (Suk Kyu 70-72) Therefore, we can expect many mutual assistances from Russia using these advantages. Also because Russia’s origin is from Soviet Union, it has huge shared technology, equipment, and any other raw materials to supply.(Suk Kyu 75) That means Russia’s ability to influence North Korea is not that small. So I’m sure that Russia can make a significant contribution to reduce tension on the peninsula.To now, I have explained relationship with other countries which can affect to Korean peace unification. Whenever I emphasize Korean unification, someone used to say like this, why should we reunify to North Korea? This can be enough to understandable question. Actually there was the latest big event in November 23, 2010 between two Koreas. North Korea provoked war through bombs in South Korean island of Yeonpyeoove, we should not achieve unification by force but peace. Because we were separated by war with blood, War should not be existed anymore in Korea peninsula. Therefore, we should prepare well studying many cases like Germany, Vietnam and Yemen for our peaceful unification.To now, many international situation and issue around the Korea peninsula unification is written by me. It is not easy to predict how and when unification will come true on the Korean peninsula. Despite many uncertainties, however, unification will come true someday in evolutionary, preparing, gradual process. And that unification will bring profits both countries. South Korea has a know-how having advantage in capital, technology and international marketing. And North Korea has a plenty of resource supply, and man power, and raw material.
