About 10 years later, there will be a man in the world. He who is interested in the world, politics, and economy in ordinary days will be working in the economic and social council of U.N.. He likes to read books and to take pictures as usual and then he would recommend good ones, which he read and send pictures that he took to his friends. In addition, he would spend time with his family, talking about memories of ten years ago. There is no doubt that he is me.
I was born in Korea on 30th of March in 1985. Now, I am an international student and I am living in El Paso, Texas. It is far away from my country, South Korea. There are several important things which represent me.
First of all, my motto is “Seize the day.” Someone who waste time consume one day away which means ones definitely squander their lives. That is the reason why I chose this for my motto. Seven years ago, I was not different from other common students. Every day was routine. Nothing was special. One day, I saw one boy on the television show which was introducing the very special people. He was my age. However, he traveled around the world by himself. I could not even imagine how hard would be and I was very shocked. I told myself, “What am I doing, watching TV, sitting on the comfortable couch, and eating chocolate?” He was absolutely contrary to me. He knew what he wanted to do and what he had to do. I could tell that he was enjoying his life. At that time, I strongly felt I needed to change myself. I decided to make my life extraordinary. If I wanted to grasp and enjoy my life, I should seize one day. I have another reason also. In those days, I read a book named “Dead Poets Society.” As I finished reading, I closed the book and I felt so impressed. Especially, “Seize the day,” this phrase attracted me and I could not forget it. That was the one what I needed. Therefore, I decided to follow it whenever I become lazy, I try to remind myself.
