Purpose Statement
The most important question in second language acquisition is how someone can be a better language learner. And one of the most critical factors considered by the majority of people is age. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of age on achievement of a second language.
Participant Protection
This research is approved by William Carey University. All participants will be recruited through sign-up sheets, letters, and by word of mouth. If someone is a participant in the experiment, they will have agreed to be a participant.

The participants will be tested individually in the lab. They will be required to make a grammaticality judgment for each sentence; if they are not sure about the answer, they can guess the answer. If the sentence is not finished or wrong for any reason, they should consider it as ungrammatical. On the ‘yes/ no’ questions, the participants will mark their answers on the answer sheet.
The experimental proctor will not look directly at the participants during the test session to avoid giving a hint to them. The participants will have a break during the test session if the recording is too fast for them or if they are getting tired.
