청소년이 지각한 어머니의 심리적 통제와 우울의 관계: 기본심리적 욕구의 매개효과와 부자 간 의사소통의 조절된 매개효과 (The Relationship between Mother's Psychological Control Perceived by Adolescents and Depression: The Mediating Effect of Basic Psychological Needs and the Moderated Mediating Effects of Communication )

초록

목적 본 연구는 어머니의 심리적 통제가 자녀의 우울에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 기본심리욕구의 좌절감이 매개역할을 한다는 것을확인하고, 이러한 역기능을 완화하기 위한 보호 요인으로서 부자 간 의사소통이 조절효과를 가지는지를 알아보고자 하였다.
방법 이를 위해 2020년 9월 16일~20일 연구 목적과 절차를 이해하고 연구 참여에 동의한 전국 중⋅고등학생 497명을 대상으로어머니의 심리적 통제, 기본심리욕구, 우울, 부자 간 의사소통 척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Process V3.5, Hayes(2017)의 PROCESS macro Model 1번, 7번, 14번 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다.
결과 어머니의 심리적 통제와 자녀의 우울 간의 관계에서 기본심리욕구의 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부자 간 의사소통이 이러한 간접 효과를 조절하는 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉, 어머니의 심리적 통제가 자녀의 기본심리적 욕구를 저하시키고 이것이 다시 자녀의 우울감을 증가시키는 매개관계에서 부자 간 긍정적 의사소통이 이 관계를 유의미하게 약화시킬 수 있다는것을 확인하였다.
결론 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 자녀의 우울 발생 기제를 심리적 통제의 관점에서 조명하였으며 그 과정에서 다른 부모가보호 기능을 할 수 있음을 밝힘으로써 상담 현장 및 부모교육에 있어서 중요한 시사점을 제시하였고 연구의 제한점에 대해서도 논의하였다.

영어초록

Objectives The study was aimed to confirm that the level of frustration of basic psychological needs plays a mediating role in the process of mother's psychological control affecting children's depression, and aims to investigate whether communication style between fathers and adolescents as a protective factor to alleviate such adverse effects has a moderating effect.
Methods For this purpose, a questionnaire package was conducted measuring the level of the mother's psychological control, basic psychological needs, depression, and communication style between fathers and adolescents on 497 middle and high schools across the country who understood the purpose and procedure of the study and agreed to participate in the study from September 16 to 20, 2020. The collected data were analyzed using the PROCESS macro model 1, 7, and 14 of SPSS Process V3.5 and Hayes (2017).
Results The mediating effect of basic psychological needs was significant in the relationship between the level of mother's psychological control and the level of adolescents' depression. Also, it was confirmed that the level of communication between father and adolescents plays a role in controlling the indirect effect. In other words, it was confirmed that the level of positive communication between fathers and adolescents could significantly weaken this relationship in the mediating relationship where the mother's psychological control lowered the adolescents’ basic psychological needs and that increased the adolescents’ depression.
Conclusions Based on the results of this study, the mechanism of depression in adolescents was illuminated from the perspective of psychological control, and by revealing that other parents can function as a protective factor in the process, important implications were presented in the counseling field and parental education, and limitations of the study were also discussed.
