초록

일러스트레이션은 재료, 기법과 스타일 컨셉트 등을 기본 요소로 정보전달 기능을 전제로 한 대표적인 시각 표현수단이다. 그렇기 때문에 아동을 위한 그림책의 명확한 정보전달을 위해서는 일러스트레이터가 정보들을 정확히 이해해야한다. 공급자로서의 일러스트레이터는 개성 있는 기법과 표현능력을 확대하여 정보에 대해서 새로운 시각으로 아동에게 이야기 전달을 위해 노력해야 하는 이유이다. 수용자 입장에서의 아동은 미술교육 관점에서 매우 중요한 시기이다. 이 시기의 아동의 성장과 인지발달이 순차적으로 이루어지듯 아동의 미술표현도 아동이 성장함에 따라 변화되어간다. 본 연구는 아동의 창의력과 관찰력을 높이기 위한 그림책 일러스트레이션 표현기법의 특성을 적합하게 활용하여 그림책을 더 부각시키고 극대화 한 일러스트레이션의 흑백표현 그림책들을 통해 확인하고 그것의 상징성과 심리적 표현을 이해하고자 하였다. 기법적인 면에서 순수미술의 영향을 받은 일러스트레이션의 표현기법과 재료는 무수히 많다. 그 중에서 흑백표현의 그림책이 아동에게 어떻게 작용 하는가를 분석하기 위하여 먼저, 형태에 대한 아동의 독창성과 창의성발달, 시각적, 심리적 사고발달, 그리고 꿈과 상상력 자극에 영향을 미친다는 것을 파악하고 그림책에서의 흑백 일러스트레이션이 갖고 있는 기호학적 분석을 토대로 분석하였다. 결과적으로, 흑백표현은 가장 절제된 기법이고 색채가 가지지 못하는 효과로서 고유한 특성이 있고 특히 아동들에게 생략된 색채를 상상할 수 있게 하여 그림책의 일러스트레이션으로서 어떠한 시각효과와 기능을 하는지 확인하였다.

영어초록

Illustration is a visual expression method that presupposes information delivery function through the basic elements such as material, technique, style concept and so forth. That is why an illustrator needs to accurately understand information in order to clearly deliver information in the picture books for children. The reason is because the illustrator as a supplier needs to make efforts to delivery stories to children from new angles for the information by expanding its unique and characteristical techniques and expression ability. From the standpoint of a consumer, children is a very important period from the perspective of art education. As the growth and cognitive development of children occur sequentially during this period, children's art expression also changes as they grow. This study seeks to examine the illustration that further highlighted and maximized picture book by appropriately utilizing the characteristics of materials among the picture book illustration expression techniques for enhancing the observation ability of children through the picture books with black & white expressions, and understand their symbolism and psychological expressions. In the technical aspect, there are countless expression techniques and materials of illustration that have been influenced by fine arts. Since the black & white expression among them is the most moderated technique that has its uniquely own characteristics as the effects that do not exist in color, its visual effects and functions as the illustration for picture book were examined. Line drawing ability is a precursor of the writing ability development. To analyze the visual and psychological effect on children, it was identified first that it affects children's originality and creative development, visual and psychological thinking development and dream and imagination stimulation, and the analysis was conducted based on the semiology analysis of black & white illustration in picutre books.
