중국 조선족의 이중정체성 갈등 및 대응 ― 1990년대 이후 소설을 중심으로 (Conflict and Overcoming of Dual Identity of Korean-Chinese – Focusing on Novels Since the 1990s)

초록

본 연구는 1990년대 이후 발행된 중국 조선족 소설에 나타나는 조선족의 이 중정체성 갈등 및 극복 양상을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 1990년에 접어들 어 중국 개혁개방 심화, 농촌개혁과 한중수교 등 정책 변화에 따라 조선족은 소 위 ‘ 제2차 이산’ 의 시대를 맞이하였다. 많은 조선족은 백여 년 동안 살아왔던 조 선족 마을을 떠나 한국이나 도시로 일거리를 찾아 이주하면서 경제적으로는 더 큰 수입을 올리게 되었지만, 다른 한편에서는 정체성 혼란, 가족 파탄과 공동체 해체 등 여러 심각한 사회문제를 맞이하게 되었다. 또한, 한족들이 공동화된 조 선족 마을로 대거 이주해 들어오면서 조선족 마을이 점점 한화(漢化) 되어가는 상황에도 직면하였다. 이에 따라 여러 조선족 작가들은 문학작품을 통해 재한 조선족과 한국인 사이의 국가정체성 갈등, 재중 조선족과 한족 사이의 민족정체 성 갈등을 탐구함으로써, 조선족의 독특한 이중정체성을 재확립하려고 하였다. 또한, 이러한 이중정체성의 갈등을 극복하기 위해 귀농의 가능성을 제시하고 고 향 의식을 고취하여, 조선족 마을 공동체를 복원하고자 시도하였다. 여기서는 이와 같은 주제가 드러나는 조선족 작가들의 대표적인 작품을 분석하고, 민족정 체성과 공동체 복원을 시도하려는 노력의 의의 및 한계를 검토하고자 한다. 아 울러 이를 바탕으로 조선족 문학과 조선족 사회가 지향해 나아가야 할 방향을 전망해 보고자 한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal the conflicts and overcoming patterns related to the dual identity of Korean-Chinese individuals, particularly focusing on the novels of Korean-Chinese authors in China published since the 1990s. Entering the 1990s, the Korean-Chinese community faced a period often referred to as the “second separation” due to various policy changes such as China's intensified reform and opening-up, rural reforms, and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China. Many Korean-Chinese individuals left the villages where they had lived for over a hundred years, seeking to alleviate their economic problems through migration to Korea or other cities in China. However, they also encountered various serious social problems, such as identity confusion, family breakdown, and community dissolution. In addition, as the Han Chinese population increased in the communal Korean-Chinese villages, a crisis emerged; that is, the villages were becoming increasingly Han Chinese. In response to these issues, Korean-Chinese literature explored the conflicts of national identity between Korean-Chinese residing in Korea and Koreans, as well as the conflicts of ethnic identity between Korean-Chinese in China and the Han Chinese. Through their works, various Korean-Chinese writers sought to re-establish the unique dual identity of the Korean-Chinese community. Additionally, to overcome the conflicts inherent in this dual identity, they proposed the possibility of returning to farming and fostering a sense of hometown consciousness. Through these efforts, their aim was to restore the Korean-Chinese village community. In this study, I aim to analyze representative works of Korean-Chinese writers addressing the aforementioned themes, examining their efforts and limitations in exploring ethnic identity, and attempting to restore community in their works. Furthermore, based on this analysis, I intend to forecast the directions that Korean-Chinese literature and the Korean-Chinese community should pursue in the future.
