중국 사합원의 외부장식 유형과 상징적 특성 분석 -북경과 산서성 사합원을 사례로- (A Study of the Type of Adornments and Symbolic Characters in 'Sahabwon' Exterior Decoration in China -In the case of the Beijing and shans's town 'Sahabwon' -)

초록

본 논문은 중국의 명 청대 주택인 사합원의 외부 장식 즉, 주택의 지붕, 벽, 문에 나타난 장식의 유형과 상징적 특성을 분석한 것이다. 대상은 중국 명 청시대의 상류층 주택으로 북경과 산서성 정촌의 중형이상의 사합원으로 하였다. 분석 방법은 가시적인 외부 장식을 중심으로 북경과 정촌을 비교 서술하였다. 지역적 장식 특징을 보면, 북경은 지역의 특성상 신분과 관계되는 장식이 많았으며, 정촌은 신분보다 부와 가정의 번영과 행복 추구를 중심으로 한 장식이 많았다. 전체적으로 중국 사합원 장식 유형을 정리하면, 지붕; 지붕형태, 색, 등마루, 와당, 풍수로, 작체, 서까래가 있다. 벽; 창문, 기둥과 주초 계단이 있다. 문; 대문, 문루, 문 형태, 색, 문 위치, 수화문, 문환, 문돈, 영벽, 문잠 장식으로 나타났다. 지붕은 색, 등마루, 높이, 처마장식을 통해 주인의 신분을 추측할 수 있었다. 벽은 주택의 몸채 부분으로 크기나 색의 사용에 따라 주인의 신분과 부(富)의 상징물로 나타났다. 대문의 문환이나 문돈 장식은 주인의 신분이나 경제적 수준을 알 수 있었다. 영벽은 내원(內院)을 보호한다는 의미가 있으며 벽사의 상징성으로 표현되었다. 본 논문은 중국 장식문화를 이해하는 기회가 될 것이며, 중국과 차별화 된 우리만의 문화 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 기초 자료로서 의의를 지닐 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This thesis analyzed the exterior decorations of Sahabwon,a house type in the Meong and Chung dynasties. More specifically, this thesis analyzed the representative features and patterns of the roofs, walls and the doors. One characteristic of Sahabwon is that they aremedium and large in terms of size in Beijing and Jungchon. The analysis method involvedexterior decoration examples of Sahabwon in Beijing (specifically SanxiSheng)andJengChon using a comparative method. The localcharacteristicis very much associated with status in Beijing and it is greatly associated with wealth, happiness, prosperity in JengChon. The gate has numerousornaments. Regarding differences in the two areas, we recognized the characteristicornaments of Sahabwon in China. We can categorize the decorations as follow. Roof: the shape of the roof, the color, the ridge of a roof, Wadang, Pungsoolo, Jakchae and rafters. Wall: the windows, columns and prop stairs.Door:the main gate, gate tower, shape of the door, color, location of the door, Suhuamun(door used for ceremonies), doorknob, Youngbyek, Moondon, and decoration of the Moonjam. We can assume the status of the proprietor by the color, the ridge of the roof, the height, and the decoration of the eaves. Walls are the body parts of the house. The size and color of the walls represent the status and wealth of the proprietor. Doorshave more decorations than roofs and walls. Specifically doorknobs and Moondons represent the status and the wealth of the owner. Youngbyek is an ornament that protects the inner garden of the house. It refers to both the 'casting out of demons' and the 'pursuing of fortune'. Likewise, the decoration of this architecture represents the distinctive Chinese culture. We searched for decoration characteristics in Beijing and inJungchon, while focusing in Sahabwon, the houses used in the Meong and Chung dynasties. This thesis can serve asa foundationwith which to understand Chinese decorations and develop Korean decoration contents.
