초록

In this study, the correlation between transparency and politeness in expression was examined based on Blum-Kulka's various types of request utterances. By examining the formula according to Brown and Levinson's face-threatening behavior, it was criticized that it could be objective to quantify politeness. Thus, it was concluded that it is more meaningful to discriminate the difference in politeness by examining different types of speech rather than quantifying the measure of politeness. From this perspective, Blum-Kulka's request utterance types were examined. Each request utterance suggested by Blum-Kulka is considered through Russian examples, and it is argued that detailed corrections are needed in his typology. Therefore, the strong hints suggested by Blum-Kulka should be considered by dividing it into recall and message as subcategories. In addition, a hypothesis was established that the correlation between transparency and politeness within statements was inversely proportional, and based on this, the hypothesis was verified by analyzing the type. As a result, it was found that although transparency and politeness in expression tended to be inversely proportional, but did not exactly match.
