소매틱 교육의 운동제어 관점에서의 이해: 알렉산더 테크닉과 펠든크라이스 기법 중심 (Understanding Somatic Education from a Motor Control Perspective: Focus on the Alexander Technique and the Feldenkrais Method)

초록

목적: 웰에이징과 힐링의 사회적 요구가 부각되면서 최근 주목받고 있는 분야가 소매틱 교육(Somatic Education) 이다. 소매틱 교육은 심신 일원론에 근간을 둔 철학으로 소개되기 시작하여 개별 기법의 효과성 및 경험연구를중심으로 조망되어 왔으나, 운동제어 관점의 기전에 관한 연구는 미비하다. 본 연구는 소매틱 교육의 대표 기법인 알렉산더 테크닉과 펠든크라이스 기법을 운동제어 이론의 관점에서 고찰하는데 목적이 있다. 방법: 본 연구를위해 문헌연구와 서술적 고찰방법을 사용하였다. 2000년부터 2023년까지 KERIS, Web of Science, Pub Med, Scopus 데이터베이스를 활용하여 검색기준과 배제기준에 따라 국내 5편, 해외 76편, 총 81편의 연구를 수집하여분석하였다. 그중 Cacciatore, Johnson과 Cohen의 연구(2020) 및 Buchanan과 Ulrich의 연구(2001)를 중심으로 각기법의 운동제어 기전을 고찰하였다. 결과: 알렉산더 테크닉의 운동제어 기전은 자세근 톤과 신체도식을 핵심개념으로 정보처리 이론을 통해 분석할 수 있다. 또한 펠든크라이스 기법은 자기조직화, 어트랙터, 섭동, 다중 하위시스템, 지각-동작연합의 개념을 바탕으로 다이나믹 시스템 이론을 통해 이해할 수 있다. 결론: 각 이론적 관점은특정 기법의 상황과 과제를 좀 더 잘 설명할 수 있다. 그러나 다른 이론적 관점에서 분석이 가능하며, 향후 운동제어 기전에 관한 구체적인 실험연구 및 신경학적 연구의 연계가 필요하다. 이렇듯 개별 기법의 운동제어 관점에서의 이해는 지도역량을 제고하고 각 기법의 통합적 이해를 촉진하며 운동제어 분야의 현장적 가치를 높이는 데기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

Purpose: Somatic education is a field that has been gaining attention in recent years due to the social need for well-aging and healing. Somatic education has been introduced as a philosophy rooted in mind-body unity, and has been investigated mainly through the study of the effectiveness and experience of individual techniques, and there is a lack of research on the mechanisms from a motor control perspective. The purpose of this study is to review the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais method, which are representative techniques of somatic education, from the perspective of motor control theory. Methods: A literature review and narrative review method were used for this study. Using KERIS, Web of Science, Pub Med, and Scopus databases from 2000 to 2023, 81 studies, including 5 domestic and 76 international studies, were collected and analyzed according to the search criteria and exclusion criteria. Among them, this study focused on Cacciatore, Johnson, Cohen’s study(2020) and Buchanan, Ulrich's study(2001) to review the motor control mechanism of each technique. Results: The motor control mechanism of Alexander technique can be analyzed through information processing theory with postural muscle tone and body schema as the core concepts. In addition, the Feldenkrais method can be understood through dynamic systems theory based on the concepts of self-organization, attractors, perturbation, multiple subsystems, and perception-action coupling. Conclusion: Each theoretical perspective can better explain the context and tasks of a particular technique. However, other theoretical perspectives can be analyzed, and future experimental and neurological research on motor control mechanisms will need to be linked. This understanding of the motor control perspectives of individual techniques is expected to contribute to improving coaching competence, promoting an integrated understanding of each technique, and increasing the field value of the motor control field.
