기업의 거래형태 및 외부기술 활용이 혁신성과에 미치는 영향 (Impact of the transaction type and the utilization of outside technology on the innovation performance)

초록

기존의 연구에서는 우리나라 산업발전 과정의 특수성으로 인해 기업의 거래형태가 기술협력 및 기술혁신성과에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 발견하였다. 그러나 이들의 연구는 시기적으로는 2000년대 초반을 그리고 지역적으로는 동남권에 소재하는 중소기업만을 대상으로 함으로써 그 결과를 일반화하기에는 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구의 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 전국적으로 분포한 473개의 제조업 기업을 대상으로 2014년 실시한 기술혁신조사 자료를 바탕으로 거래형태 및 기술협력이 혁신성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.
연구결과 외부기관과의 기술협력이 혁신성과에 기여하고, 하도급기업에서는 고객업체와의 기술협력이, 비하도급 기업에서는 동종업체와의 기술협력이 혁신성과에 기여한다는 사실은 기존의 연구결과와 동일하게 나타났다. 그러나 다음과 같은 점은 기존연구결과와 상이하였다. 첫째, 기술협력과는 달리 기술도입의 효과는 제한적이며, 외부기술 활용과 내부기술역량과의 상호작용은 기존연구와는 달리 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 비하도급 기업의 혁신성과가 하도급기업에 비해 우수하였다. 셋째, 제품혁신에서는 하도급기업과 비하도급 기업을 막론하고 대학 및 연구기관과의 기술협력이 혁신성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

It has been founded in recent studies that the transaction types of a firm had an influences upon its technological collaboration and innovative performances. But these studies have some limits to generalize its empirical findings, in the sense that they used the firms as a research sample, early in the 2000 years in time period and located in the south-eastern part of the Korean peninsular. In this study we also analyzed the impact of the transaction type and the utilization of outside technology on the innovation performances of a firm. But we used nation-widely distributed 473 manufacturing firms as a research sample in this study, on the transaction and innovative activities of which we had surveyed in the year of 2014.
The empirical results shows the same as the existing studies in the following two points; (1) technological collaboration generally contributes to a firm’s innovative performances, (2) in case of the subcontracting firms, technological collaborations with customer firms contributes to the innovative performances, but in case of the non-subcontracting firms, technological collaborations with firms of the same industry contributes.
But the empirical results are different from the existing studies in the following three points; (1) the effect of the simple technological licensing is limited relative to the technological collaboration, and the interaction between technological collaboration and the internal technological capability does not exist, (2) the innovative performances of the subcontracting firms are inferior to those of the non-subcontracting firms, (3) technological collaborations with universities and research institutes are important in the product innovation of the subcontracting as well as the non-subcontracting firms.
