지유샤역사교과서의 교수·학습적성격 (Teaching and Learning Characteristics of Jiyusya History Textbook)

초록

2009년 일본의 검정심사에 통과한 지유샤 역사교과서의 내용은 후소샤 교과서 내용과
별다른 차이가 없다. 그렇지만 새역모는 지유샤 교과서를 편찬하면서 교수·학습의 측면에
는 상당한 신경을 썼다.
지유샤 교과서에는 본문 서술을 보완할 수 있는 사진, 그림, 지도 등 여러 자료들이 들어
있다. 본문 내용을 도식화한 도표를 많이 활용하였으며, 해당 주제에서 알아야 할 핵심내용
을 질문과 답의 형식을 릴려‘이것이 포인트’로 제시하고 있다.
본문 외에 5가지 유형의 읽기자료를 두어 학생들의 흥미를 자극하고, 깊이있는 역사 이
해를 돕고 있다. 장의 끝에는 <역사 사전>을 두어, 그 장에서 알아야 할 주요 사항을 정리하
였다. 또한 각 장의 표지에 여성의 생활이나 여성 인물, 여성들의 활동을 담은 사진을 넣은
것도 역사학이나 역사교육의 경향을 의식한 것이라고 할 수 있다.
그렇지만 지유샤 교과서가 이처럼 교수·학습의 측면을 강화한 것은 새역모가 가지고 있
는 역사인식을 학생들에게 효율적으로 전달하기 위한 수단이다. 통치세력과 이들의 통치행
위를 중심으로 역사를 이해하며, 민중을 그 수혜를 받는 수동적 존재로 묘사한다. 천황은
일반 사람과는 비교할 수 없는 신성한 인품과 능력을 가진 일본의 상징으로 추앙되며, 과거
일본의 문화나 관습을 미화하여 일본인으로서 자부심을 가지게 한다. 이를 통해 민족적 동
질감을 강조하고, 지난날 일본의 잘못된 과거를 합리화하려는 것이다.

영어초록

The contents of Jijusya(自由社) history textbook, passed through 2009 official
certification in Japan, are little different from those of Husosya(扶桑社) history
textbook. But Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform(新しい곎史敎科書
をつくる會) attach importance of teaching and learning aspects to Jiyusya history
textbook. Many learning materials such as photograph, pictures and maps,
which complement writings of the textbook, are involved in Jiyusya history
textbook. There are charts which diagrammatize contents of text and are
involved‘ this is a points’which present key contents with question and reply in
Jiyusya history textbook.
There are five types of reading materials in Jiyusya history textbook, which
stimulate the interests of students and help them understand historical facts in
depth. History dictionaries in the end of the chapter summarize important
historical facts to be memorized by students. There are involved the pictures of
the life of the women, the great women or the activity of the women in the
beginning of the chapter. It is conscious of criticizing them, and depend on the trends of recent historical research.
But it is the means for transmitting their historical understanding to the

history textbook. Historical facts are understood according to ruling class and
their governing activity, while people in general are described as being benefit
from it in Giyusya history textbook. Japanese Emperor is revered as the divine
person who has the noble character and function not to be compared with
ordinary people. And the culture and the custom of Japanese history are
idealized for students to have the national self-esteem and the identity as
Japanese people. These contents in Jiyusya are for the purpose of rationalizing
the Japanese historical activity and justifying their historical blames.
