정신지체인에 대한 대학생의 인식태도 (Attitude of University Students toward People with Mental Retardation in Korea)

초록

본 연구는 정신시체인에 대한 대학생의 인식태도를 알아보기 위한 연구로서, 연구대상은 전국지역에 있는 대학생 536명을 대상으로 하였다. 대학생의 성별 학년별, 특수교육 관련지식의 정도, 장애아동 지도유무와 자원봉사활동 유무에 따른 정신지체인에 대한 태도를 밝히기 위해 「정신지체인에 대한 태도를 측정하기 위한 다차원적 태도척도를 사용하여 설문조사 하였다. 연구결과 성별에서는 여학생이 남학생보다 인식태도가 호의적으로 나타났고. 학년별에서는 1, 2, 3학년이 4학년보다 호의적으로 나타났다. 또한 특수교육 관련지식에서는 지식의 정도가 많을수록, 장애아동의 지도와 자원봉사활동의 경혐이 있는 대학생이 정신지체인에 대해 호의적인 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

The Purpose of this research was to investigate structuie of attitude of university students toward people with mental retardation in Korea.The sample for this research were 536 university students. They were given Multi-Dimensional Attitude Scale toward Handicapped Person(with mental letaidation) (Tokuda, 1990). The variables of analysis were sex, grade, with and without related experience of special education knowledge, with and without teaching of the children with disabilities, and with and without Participating of volunteer activities.
The results of this research were as follows: First, in attitude of sexes, attitudes of woman university students were more amicable than attitudes of man university students toward People with mental retardation.
Second, in attitude of grades, attitudes of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade university students were more amicable than attitudes of 4th grade university students toward People with mental retardation.
Third, in related experience of special education knowledge, attitudes of university students withrelated experience of special education knowledge were more amicable than attitudes of university students without related experience of special education knowledge toward People with mental retardation.
Fourth, in teaching of the children with disabilities, attitudes of university students with teaching of the children with disabilities more amicable than attitudes of university students without teaching of the children with disabilities toward People with mental retardation, Fifth, in participating of volunteer activities, attitudes of university students with participating of volunteer activities more amicable than attitudes of university students without Participating of volunteer activities toward people with mental retardation.
