초록

This study was conducted to find out whether the decrease in the rice bowl capacity and the rice consumption are proportional to each other by measuring changes of rice bowls and capacity of the bowls over time. In order to measure the capacity of rice bowls by era from prehistoric times to the present day. Total 17 rice bowls were employed and it has been collected through 345 antique shops in 13 cities and provinces affiliated with the National Art Association from online auctions in Korea. The research results are as follows. First, rice bowls that pursue health and diet are now being used from the prehistoric earthenware eating period when natural food was hunted and collected. Second, it was found that prehistoric times used feet that were about five times larger than the present. Also, the decrease and the trend are not proportional to each other even though both the decrease in rice bowl capacity and the consumption of rice are decreasing. These research results suggest that current misunderstood eating habits should be improved and our traditional diet should be inherited.
