초록

How do poetry gain poesy(artness)? what could be the crucial esthetic factors as we appreciate poetry? poetry is a field of art only having different medium from other kinds of arts. Therefore, like any other arts, poetry pursuits similar esthetic impressions. Unlike the ordinary language, the language of poetry refuses to be encoded. Moreover, poetry gain aesthetic impression by obtaining defamiliarization. The poetry readers and educators tend to search for hidden meaning in the poetry. such a tendency is a bad habit that makes poetry more difficult than necessary. Some poetries do seem very complex. The first type of obscure poetry do not necessarily require interpretation, but only letting the readers to enjoy the defamiliarization. The second type is the poetries that require interpretation without contributing much to the aesthetic value. As I. A. Richard mentioned, the first type is the inclusive poetry, and the second type is the poetry of exclusion disguised as the inclusive poetry.
