대학생의 자아정체감과 다문화 감수성이 인성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-Identity and Multicultural Sensitivity on Personality in University Students)

초록

본 연구는 대학생들이 건강한 성인으로 자라날 수 있도록 하는 데 있어서 중요한 요인인 인성에 영향을 미치는 변인을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 개인적 차원에서 자아정체감, 사회적 차원에서 다문화 감수성을 예측변인으로 하여 인성에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 온라인 설문에 자발적으로 참여한 대학생 194명을 대상으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성별에 따른 차이를 확인한 결과, 자아정체감에서는 ‘정체감 상실’에서 성차가 확인되었고 남학생이 여학생보다 정체감 상실의 정도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다문화 감수성에서는 ‘문화차이 존중도’, ‘상호작용 존중도’에서 성차가 확인되었고, ‘문화차이 존중도’에서는 여학생이 높았고 ‘상호작용 존중도’에서는 남학생이 높았다. 인성에서는 ‘인지(앎)’, ‘행동(실행)’에서 성차가 확인되었고, 여학생이 남학생보다 ‘인지(앎)’와 ‘행동(실행)’에서 모두 높았다. 둘째, 자아정체감이 인성에 미치는 영향을 확인한 결과, ‘인지(앎)’, ‘행동(실행)’에 미치는 영향이 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 자아정체감의 하위변인 중에서 ‘인지(앎)’에 정적으로 영향을 미치는 변인은 ‘정체감 성취’, ‘정체감 유예’, 부(-)적으로 영향을 미치는 ‘정체감 혼미’였다. ‘행동(실행)’에 영향을 미치는 변인은 ‘정체감 성취’였다. 셋째, 다문화 감수성이 인성에 미치는 영향을 확인한 결과,‘인지(앎)’, ‘정의(느낌)’, ‘행동(실행)’에 미치는 영향이 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 다문화 감수성의 하위변인 중에서 ‘인지(앎)’에 영향을 미치는 변인은 ‘상호작용 참여도’, ‘상호작용 향유도’이고, ‘정의(느낌)’에 영향을 미치는 변인은 ‘상호작용 참여도’, ‘행동(실행)’에 영향을 미치는 변인은 ‘상호작용 자신도’였다. 이러한 결과는 향후 대학생을 위한 인성교육과정을 설계할 때 개인적인 차원에서 자아정체감, 사회적인 차원에서 다문화 감수성을 내용으로 구성할 수 있는 객관적인 근거자료가 될 수 있고, 구체적인 교육내용 선정에도 도움이 될 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to identify variables that affect personality, which are important factors in allowing university students to grow into healthy adults. The impact on personality was confirmed by using self-identity at the individual level and multicultural sensitivity at the social level as predictors. 194 university students who voluntarily participated in the online survey were analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of confirming gender differences, in self-identity, gender differences were confirmed in 'lost identity', and male students had a higher degree of loss of identity than female students. In multicultural sensitivity, gender differences were confirmed in 'respect for cultural differences' and 'respect for interaction', female students had higher levels of 'respect for cultural differences' and male students had higher levels of 'respect for interactions'. In personality, gender differences were confirmed in 'cognition(knowledge)' and 'action(execution)', and female students were higher in both 'cognition (knowledge)' and 'action(execution)' than male students. Second, as a result of confirming the effect of self-identity on personality, the effect on 'cognition(knowledge)' and 'action(execution)' was found to be significant. Among the sub-variables of self-identity, the variables that positively affect 'cognition(knowledge)' were 'achievement of identity', 'deferment of identity', and 'identity confusion' negatively influencing. The variable that affects ‘action(execution)’ was ‘achievement of a sense of identity’. Third, as a result of confirming the effect of multicultural sensitivity on personality, the effects on 'cognition(knowledge)', 'emotion(feeling)', and 'action(execution)' were all significant. Among the sub-variables of multicultural sensitivity, the variables affecting 'cognition (knowledge)' were 'interaction participation' and 'interaction enjoyment', and the variables affecting 'emotion(feeling)' were 'interaction participation' and the variables affecting 'action(execution)' were 'interaction confidence'. These results can serve as objective basis data to compose contents of self-identity at the personal level and multicultural sensitivity at the social level when designing a character education course for college students in the future, and will help in selecting specific educational contents.
