초록

본 논문은 元代 잡극 《西廂記》의 만주어 번역본인 《滿漢合壁西廂記》에 관한 연구이다. 淸은 중국 본토를 정복한 이민족의 왕조 가운데 가장 큰 정치적 실체였다. 淸의 만주족은 왕조의 교체와 정치 체제의 재건 외에도 언어와 문화 사상의 주도와 변화도 추구했다. 그들은 만주어를 만들었고 이를 통해 소통하고 기록하고 정체성을 표현 하고자 했다. 그들은 만주어로 자신들의 역사를 기록했고 모국어 사용의 기준을 표명하는 사전을 만들었다. 주접, 상소, 법률, 족보, 사적저술, 민간문학도 만주어로 썼다. 또 자기 언어의 보급과 양적 확장을 위해 한적을 번역하여 만주어 서적을 간행했다. 만주어로 번역되는 한적에 사서와 경서, 한적 문학 등이 모두 포함됐다. 위정자의 국정운영에 활용할 만한 《三國演義》를 비롯한 다양한 연의소설이 번역되었고 四大奇書가 모두 만주어로 번역되었다. 만주어로 번역된 중국 문학은 대부분 소설 작품인데 여기 희곡 《西廂記》가 포함되게 되었다. 《西廂記》의 번역은 순수하게 만주어로만 되기도 했고, 만주어 옆에 한어를 병기하여 되기도 했고, 曲과 唱 부분만 발췌 번역되기도 했다. 이 번역들은 필사본, 각본의 형식으로 남아있다. 이 번역서들은 현재 중국 전역과 미국 유럽 및 일본 등에 전파되어 있다. 우리나라에는 규장각과 존경각에 소장되어 있다. 규장각 에 소장된 《西廂記》는 합벽형식의 번역서로 가장 많은 이본과 영인본이 있는 판본이다. 한국에 어떠한 경위로 유입 되었는지는 알 수는 없으나 본 내용 위에 간단하게 어려운 만주어에 대한 설명을 더한 한글 기록이 있어 조선에서 이 책이 상당히 구체적 읽혔던 것을 확인할 수 있다. 또 이 책은 김성탄본 《第六才子書》를 바탕으로 하고 있으면서도 《第六才子書》에 없는 어휘나 내용이 있어 번역을 하던 만주인의 감정이 이입된 것을 알 수 있다. 또 동일 한자어에 대한 번역도 다양한 양상으로 나타나 만주어 어휘연구와 만주족의 한자 활용을 이해하는 데도 중요한 자료가 된다.

This paper is a study on “Manchu Chinese Combination ‘The Romance of West Chamber’” which translated Yuan Dynasty ‘The Romance of West Chamber’ into Manchu language. Qing conquered mainland China. It was the largest political entity among the ethnic dynasties. The Manchu of Qing dynasties replaced the dynasties and rebuilt the political system. In addition, he pursued changes in language, culture, and thought. They made Manchu. They tried to express communication, record, and identity in the Manchu language. He recorded history in Manchu and made a Manchu dictionary. The Manchu published a manuscript written in Manchu, a command of the king, a letter to the court, a genealogy, and private writings, and civilian literature. For the spread of the native language and quantitative expansion, Chinese books were translated into Manchu and published books. They translated Four books and five classics and Chinese ancient literary works into Manchu language. The “Three Kingdoms era” helps politicians run the country. So They translated. In addition, various historical novels have been translated for the same reason. ‘Four great books’ were translated into Manchu. The ancient Chinese play ‘The Romance of West Chamber’ was also translated into Manchu. The Manchu translation of ‘The Romance of West Chamber’ was conducted in the early 18th century. A translation of a purely Mandarin language, a translation of a double recording format written in Chinese alongside Manchu language. It was translated into various forms, such as excerpts, translations, manuscripts, and scripts, which were translated only in poetry and song parts.
The Manchu translation contained in Seoul National University Library Kyujanggak ‘The Romance of West Chamber’ is a translation of the double recording format. It is the version with the greatest number of a different version and a photographic edition throughout China, the United States, Europe and Japan. We do not know what kind of inspiration came into Korea. There is a possibility of having seen a professional translator in the Ministry because there is a simple Korean language record on this contents. The Manchu translation of ‘The Romance of West Chamber’ is not the Ming period Ming Dynasty It was based on the book ‘第六才子書’ written by 金聖嘆 of the Qing Dynasty. If we compare 金聖嘆’s ‘第六才子書’ with Manchu translation ‘The Romance of West Chamber’ there are missing contents and wrong characters. Also, there are vocabulary and contents that are not included in the ‘第六才子書’. It seems that there will be translations for the various editions and the translator’s thoughts. There are various translations for the same Chinese characters.
Through this, the characteristics of translation can be found. In addition, we can understand Manchurian vocabulary research and Chinese characters usage of Manchu.
