초록

이수광(李睟光 : 1563~1628)의 매화시는 독특한 시각과 이색적인 시어로 지금까지 여러 작가들의 매화 시와는 완연히 구분되는 자신만의 특색을 가지고 있다. 그의 매화시는 천상계와 매화, 전고와 매화, 자심만의 시 세계를 이루는 이색적 시 꽃이 등장하지 않는 매화 시이다.
천상계를 동경하는 매화시에서는 부드럽고 아름다우며 향기가 온 누리를 진동하는 매화로 천상의 선녀들도 시기 질투하는 아름다움의 대명사이고 인간 세상의 봄의 사자이며 소나무나 대나무 그리고 국화들도 무색하게 하는 자연계의 가장 완벽한 花中聖으로 표현하기도 한다.
선인들을 그리는 전고의 매화시에서는 고전과 문학에서 전고를 재치 있게 용사하여 작품의 시공간을 확장시키고 매화의 이미지를 더욱 풍부하게 해준다. 전고와 고전의 적재적소의 사용으로 매화시의 고금과 현실 그리고 미래를 자유자재로 넘나들면서 매력적이고 심층적인 이미지를 심어준다.
자신만의 시세계를 이루는 이색적인 시어에서는 정확하고 표현력이 강한 시어로 예술적인 분위기를 창조해 준다. 흔히 詩作에서 시어는 작가의 가장 직접적인 시상표현으로 이러한 이수광의 특징적이고 이색적인 시어에서 한국 매화시의 진수를 기대해 볼 수 있다.
매화 시에 매화꽃이 등장하지 않는 것도 흥미롭고 불가사의한 일인데 이수광의 매화 시에는 매화 꽃이 등장하지 않는 작품들이 있다.
이와 같이 독특한 시점으로 매화가 무언중에 부각되면서 상상외의 예술적 효과를 낳고 있는 박학다식한 이수광의 매회시를 고찰해 보았다.

영어초록

Lee Soo-kwang was a competent public servant who settled many social ills and a talented writer who left many products. When people estimate Soo-kwnag Lee, he is a person who has profound knowledge and good style of writing, based on wide reading with a retentive memory and a great store of knowledge. During Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, his prose was so refined that he wrote all the official statement, staying at the King´s temporary quarters and acted as an adviser to King Sen-jo. He concentrated his energies to poetry and prose as a critic and a poet, especially he showed great talent of literary theory by writing 「Gi Boung Yoo Seal」 which organize huge mount of sentences.
Poems about the ume blossoms written by Soo-kwnag Lee have special features that classifies to other poems by unique viewpoint and poetic diction. His poems about the ume blossoms could assort into three different features.

In the poems about the ume blossoms related to the heaven, the ume blossoms is the symbol of beauty that envied by fairies and it smells all over the heaven. It is the herald of spring and it is the most holy flower in the natural world rather than the fine tree or the bamboo or the chrysanthemum.
In the poems about the ume blossoms related to the authentic precedent, he selected poetic dictions from the classical literature that makes the image of the ume blossoms more abundantly. By using the authentic precedent and poetic dictions from the classical literature, the ume blossoms become more charming and have various image that show past, present and future.
His unique poetic dictions create artistic atmosphere because of accurate and strong power of expression. Usually dictions represent author's direct poetical idea. Therefore you could expect the essence of poetry from Korean poems about the ume blossoms by appreciating Lee's unique words. It is interesting and maybe impossible that there are poems about the ume blossoms without mentioning the ume blossoms. But some of Lee's poetries happens it.
In this thesis, I'll consider Lee Soo-kwang's poems about the ume blossoms that contain wide knowledge with broad vision which show artistic effect.
