인구고령화로 바라본 동북아시아 국가들(한국, 중국, 일본, 북한) 군비경쟁 전망

소개

동북아시아의 한국과 중국, 일본, 북한의 인구고령화 현상으로 미루어본 향후 군비경쟁 전망입니다. 인구고령화 현상이 해당 현상에 대한 사회적인 준비가 덜 된 동북아시아 국가들의 사회복지비 지출을 초래할 것이고 이는 더 나아가 군비경쟁 역시 둔화시킬 것이라는 내용이니다. 국제안보 전공으로 고려대에서 석사과정 중에 있으며 파이널 텀페이퍼로 제출한 과목에서 A+를 받았습니다.

본문내용

Despite the power, system, and ideology, which are the essential elements of theories of International Politics, are still significant to explain and prospect the NEA’s geopolitical competition, cooperation and future. However, these are not enough as the actualities repeat changes over time, and other variables are required to consider. Therefore, this research paper would use the demographic variable and demonstrate in what ways the future security of NEA would be, focusing on ROK, DPRK, Japan, and China. There will be the section for illustrating NEA’s demographic change which shows these regional countries have been challenged with unprecedented levels of rapid aging, comparing the case of three European countries. After that, the relationship between military spending and social welfare would be demonstrated in order to explain that rapid aging would clearly lead the decrease in military expenditure in this region, increase in social welfare expenditure. In this regard, this paper would argue that NEA countries would become too old for arms race on 2030 so that regional peace would be largely shaped by the ongoing demographic changes, not by a democratic change.
