1. 장애인의 사회적 소외감
1) 사회적 소외감의 개념
소외(alienation)란 사회와 문화로부터 고립되어 타인에 의해 가지와 무의미, 좌절, 무력감 등을 경험하는 뜻으로 Hegel의 ‘자기 소외 정신’이라는 용어를 사용한데서 기인한다(김병안, 2010). 이는 현대사회의 구조적 특성을 반영하는 것으로, 개인의 주관적 경험으로 소외감을 뜻하며 무력감, 무의미, 사회적 고립, 규범상실, 자기 및 문화적 유리 등이 포함된다(이은숙, 2002).
따라서 소외의 의미를 분명하게 규정하기는 어렵지만, 철학, 법률, 정신의학, 심리학, 그리고 사회학에서 의미를 가지고 사회현상으로서 바라보고 있다. 소외를 사회학과 현대의 심리학에서는 개인이 사회, 자연, 타인 또는 자신에게 격리되는 느낌을 일컬으며, 정신의학에선 정상으로부터 빗나감을 의미하고, 일상적인 의미는 이전의 친구들이나 동료로부터 멀어지는 것으로 사용된다(이은숙, 2002).

3) 장애인의 심리환경적 특성과 우울
(1) 문제음주
문제음주(problem drinking)란 음주 관련문제를 유발시키는 음주행위이며, 술을 적당한 정도로 통제하여 마시지 못해 알코올을 남용하거나 의존에 이르게 되는 것이다. 또한 음주로 인해 자신 또는 타인에게 신체적, 정신적, 경제적, 사회적으로 부정적인 결과를 초래하는 것을 의미한다(Straus, 1983). 장애인들의 음주문제에 대한 정확한 통계 및 연구가 많지 않으나, 영구임대아파트에 거주하는 장애인을 대상으로 여가행태와 음주행위에 대한 연구에 의하면 대상자 중 문제음주자가 59.3%로 일반 성인의 문제음주 비율인 30-35%보다 약 2배정도 높은 것으로 나타나 그 심각성을 보여주고 있다(윤명숙, 2010; 주연선, 2004). 윤명숙과 박현정(2011)의 연구에 따르면 장애인들은 장애에 대한 분노, 울분에 대한 대처 및 세상과 소통하는 창으로 술을 마시는 것으로 나타났다.
