초록

In this study I try to analyze the result when formative characteristics of Korean traditional painting images are combined with modern expressing method represented as Motion Graphics. Also, when Korean traditional painting images are used as design elements of motion graphics, I propose the possibilities of Motion Graphics that can sufficiently have the Korean expressive emotion. In this study, first, I summarize the concept, basic formative elements, expression methods and various applied cases in Motion Graphics and Korean traditional painting images. Second, I analyse the Motion Graphics which have the expressive motifs of oriental images. Through this research, I summarize its common features of expressions and technical methods. Third, I review the progression of my own work, "the eight famous spots in DanYang", from the first planning to final production stage. Also, by comparing each work’s visual intention and result, I estimate the possibilities of Korean traditional paintings whether these are sufficient as materials for design elements. Korean traditional painting images can be freely transformed and evolved in Motion Graphics field. I intend to create a unique and experimental Motion Graphics through the deconstruction and reformation of the Korean traditional paintings. This formative experiments could become the opportunity to freely express the 21st century's modern culture based on Korean sentiments.
