초록

동아시아의 역사공간의 네트워크는 전체이면서 부분인 터(field)와 또 부분이면서 전체이기도 한 3개의 中核과 주변의 몇몇 行星들, 그들을 싸고도는 衛星들이 있고(multi-core), 중첩적인 線(line)들로 이어졌다. 선이란 교통로를 말한다. 3핵은 첫째, 중국공간 혹은 中華文明이다. 둘째, 北方遊牧文明이다. 셋째는 한반도와 만주일대에서 성장한 東方文明이다. 행성들은 각 중핵지역의 주변에 위치한 지역들이다. 위성들은 각각의 행성 내부에 있는 소규모의 국가 내지 문화권이다. 線(line)은 핵들과 핵들을 이어 주는 역할을 하면서, 동시에 그 자체도 독립성을 지녔다. 그리고 동아시아의 역사공간에서 큰 역할을 담당한 부분이 해양이다. 필자는 이 공간을 東亞地中海라고 명명하면서 성격을 규명하고 각각 지역 종족 문명의 역할을 규명하였다. 동아지중해는 수천 년 동안 지정학적으로 협력과 경쟁, 갈등과 정복 등의 상호작용을 통해 공동의 역사활동권을 이루어왔다. 한편 농경의 定着性(stability) 문화와 유목 해양의 移動性(mobility) 문화가 만나 상호보완되면서 독특한 성격을 탄생시켰다. 특히 발해의 역사공간은 대륙과 해양을 공히 활용하며, 동아지중해의 中核(core)에 위치하고 있다. 몇몇 지역과 국가를 전체적으로 연결하는 海陸네트워크를 가지고 있다. 발해유역의 자연환경은 바다와 대륙과 반도가 만나는 곳이다. 만주지역의 삼림문화 동몽골과 북방의 유목문화, 요동반도의 농경문화, 그리고 황해의 해양문화가 모이는 곳이었다. 이렇게 변화된 지리, 기후 등 자연환경 속에서 생태계와 문화의 형태도 다양하게 변화했다. 그와 함께 수십 혹은 수백 개에 달하는 다양한 종족과 언어권, 그에 상응하는 다양한 문화들이 생성되어 있었다. 발해유역은 하나의 지역 안에 색다른 자연환경, 이질적인 문화가 공존하면서 복합적인 역사공간으로 되었다. 발해는 6000년 전부터 ‘內海’, ‘灣’, ‘小地中海’의 성격을 지니고 있다. 면적이 적당하고 해양교통에 편리하고, 경제적으로 풍요롭다. 고대사회에서는 문명이 발전하기에 적합한 크기이다. 8000년 전에 높은 수준의 신석기 문화가 태동했다. 5000년 전후해서는 紅山문화가 발전했다. 이어 夏家店下層문화, 뒤를 이은 夏家店上層문화가 발전했다. 요동반도의 동쪽에는 해양문화를 비롯하여 고인돌(dolmen) 문화가 발전했다. 고조선과 관계가 깊은 문화이다. 이렇게 발해유역은 東方문명, 北方문명, 中華문명이 교차하고 재생산하는 據點(i.c, heart)의 역할도 하였다. 중국은 발해유역의 문화를 ‘遼河文明論’이라고 부르고 있다. 그 논리는 중국중심적이며, 육지중심적이다. 필자는 ‘渤海文明論’을 제창하고, 동아시아 문명의 성격을 규명하며, 아울러 우리문화의 정체성을 찾고자 한다.

영어초록

The network in the historical region of East Asia consists of three cores which can be either the whole or the field, few planets, and satellites that go around all of these. There are also reiteratedlines which indicate the routes. Such frames of analysis are ‘field and multi core theory’.
Those three cores are the Chinese civilization, the north nomadic civilization, and the east civilization that grew from the Korean peninsula and the Manchuria region. The planets refer to regions around these three nucleuses. The satellites refer to countries or cultural areas in each of these regions planets. The lines connect those cores together and also have their own independence. And the ocean takes the important part in East Asia's historical space.
The author names the space as East Asian- Mediterranean-sea, and investigates the characteristics and roles of each regional culture.
East Asian-Mediterranean-sea has made up a field of historical actions through interactions such as cooperation, competition, conflicts, conquests, and etc for thousands years. One hand, both stability of agriculture and mobility of nomadic culture met and completed a unique characteristic. Especially, Palhae-sea's historical space use the land and the sea practically and is located in the core of East Asian-Mediterranean-
sea, where has an ability to connect the yellow sea. and that she has the ocean network, connecting the regions and the countries over all.
Palhae-sea basin had a unique characteristic that formed articulated connections between the ocean, the peninsula, and the land with the core at the center. It was a concentrated area that the forest culture of Manchuri, the nomad culture of East-Mongolia and the north, the agri-culture of the Liaodung peninsula area, and the ocean culture from Yellow-sea.
The movements of residents were frequent which caused serious conflicts and the economical formation were various because it was the area where meadow, forests, ocean, hill were intercepted. Various types of natural environment and culture importantly affected to changes of social system and the characteristics of the region. Palhae-sea period became the space of history that various natural environment and different cultures co-existed within the area of region.
Palhae-sea from before 6000 have the character of `inland-sea' `gulf' ‘small -mediterranean sea'. The area is suitable and Is convenient to an oceanic traffic, is abundant economically. The New stonework culture of high phase advanced before 8000. The Hongsan culture developed before 5000. Continued and the Hagajum upper level culture advanced a Hagajum lower stratum culture and after next.
To east of the Liao-river insurgent including an oceanic culture and the dolmen culture advanced. With proto-Chosun is a culture where the relationship is deep. The Palhae-sea basin the Chinese civilization, the north nomadic civilization, and the east civilization intersects like this, took charge of the strong hold role which reproduces.
China as Liaohua-civilization theory calls the ‘a Palhae-civilization theory'. It China is central, is a logic in the land center. The author asserts ‘a Palhae-civilization theory', examines closely seeks character of East asia-civilization, the identity of our culture.
