인문예술통합교육이 청소년의 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Integrated Humanities and Arts Education upon the Development of Adolescents’ Sociability)

초록

본 연구는 최근 문화예술과 인문학의 접목에 주목하여, 다양한 분야의 문화예술을 통합한 문화예술교육 프로그램을 개발하고 이것의 인문학적 교육 측면의 효과를 체계적으로 규명하기 위한 것이다. 특히 큰 변화를 경험하는 과도기에 있는 청소년의 사회성 발달을 증진시키는 프로그램 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 개발된 프로그램의 주요 특징은 다음과 같다. 철학과 무용, 영화, 시각예술이라는 다양한 분야의 예술과 인문을 통합시킨 교육이다. 즉 다양한 분야의 문화예술적 자극들을 통합적으로 체험하고 이를 다시 창조적인 산물로 만들어내는 활동에 초점을 두었다. 또한 현대의 물질주의와 개인주의적 사고를 벗어나, 나로부터 너와의 관계, 그리고 나를 포함한 우리, 환경에서 더불어 살아갈 수 있는 태도 등 인문학적 소양을 증진시킬 수 있도록 구성하였다. 특히 청소년의 사회성 발달에 초점을 맞추고 가능하면 상호작용이 많이 일어나는 소재를 제공함으로써 갈등해결 능력과 사회적 기술을 효과적으로 익힐 수 있도록 기획되었다. 이외에도 대부분의 수업을 공동 작업으로 구성함으로써 쉽게 소속감과 동료 의식, 공동체의식을 발전시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 청소년에게 8회에 걸쳐 실시하고 프로그램 실시 전과 후의 청소년의 사회성을 비교한 결과, 청소년의 사회성이 전반적으로 증진되었으며, 하위요인 중 문제해결, 공동체성, 대인관계, 성취동기, 자기관리 순으로 유의미한 향상을 나타냈다. 반면에 자아존중감, 자기표현, 낙관성, 행복감은 유의미한 변화를 보이지 않았다. 본 연구에서 개발된 인문예술 교육프로그램이 청소년의 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향이 있음을 검증함으로써 문화예술분야의 인문교육적 가능성을 확장시키는데 기여하였으며, 기존의 프로그램과는 차별적이고 다양한 접근 방식을 통합함으로써 청소년의 관심과 관여를 이끌어내었다고 본다.

영어초록

According to the educational trend of integrating cultural arts and humanities in recent years, this study developed an educational program that integrated humanities and arts in various fields and identified the effects of the humanities program, especially focusing on adolescents’ sociability. The main features of the program developed are as follows: an educational program that integrates arts and humanities of various fields such as philosophy, dance, film, and visual arts. In other words, the program focused on developing various activities that enhanced cultural and artistic experiences using stimuli from various fields to create different products. In addition, the program was constructed to promote humanistic development, for example, relationships with others and our attitudes of living together in our environment rather than the contemporary materialism and individualism. This study specifically focuses on the social development of adolescents and is designed to allow the effective acquisition of conflict resolution abilities and social skills by providing interactive materials as much as possible. In addition, most of the lessons are collaborative in structure so that the participants could easily develop a sense of belonging, fellow consciousness, and community consciousness. A comparison of the sociability of adolescents before and after the program resulted in the overall improvement of adolescent sociability and the sub-factors of: problem solving, cooperation, interpersonal relationships, achievement motivation, and self-care improved significantly. On the other hand, self-esteem, self-expression, optimism, and happiness did not show any significant changes. Through the confirmation of the effects of the integrated humanities and arts program developed for this study on the social development of adolescents, this study contributed to expanding the possibilities of humanities education in the fields of culture and the arts. Also, it differentiates from previously existing programs as it has attracted the interests and involvement of youth by integrating various approaches from a variety of disciplines.
