이혼가족 청소년을 회복시키는 기독교 이야기 정체감 교육 (Christian Story Identification Education to Restore Adolescents from Divorced Families)

초록

현대 사회에서 이혼은 가족의 구조와 형태를 변동하는 주요 요인으로 작동하고 있다. 우리 사회 이혼율은 2014년에 급증하였고, 사회적 인식이 보편화되기 시작하였다. 2022년 이혼 건수는 93,232건인데, 그 가운데 미성년 자녀 동반 이혼 비율은 44.7%에 해당한다. 이혼의 역기능을 극복하기 위한 다양한 법적 정책들이 마련되어 왔고 사회적 인식도 훨씬 개방적이지만, 그에 비해 동반 이혼 자녀에 대한 연구는 미흡하고 주제가 다소 제한적이다. 이에 본 연구는 이혼으로 한부모 가족이 된 청소년의 정체감 문제에 주목한다. 부모의 이혼으로 청소년은 환경의 변화와 함께 경제적 ․ 정서적 결핍, 부모와의 갈등 혹은 관계의 역전이로 인한 부모화, 정체감의 혼란 등 다양한 문제를 경험할 수밖에 없다. 친근한 관계에 대한 상실감, 가족에 대한 배신감 등과 함께 한부모 가족의 불편함은 청소년의 실존적 사고를 부추기고, 이러한 실존의 경험을 극복하려는 노력 가운데 청소년은 의미를 탐색한다. 유일무이한 인생의 의미를 발견하려는 노력 가운데 청소년은 자기 삶의 의미에 대한 이야기, 곧 ‘자기신화’를 형성한다. ‘자기신화’는 가장 먼저 ‘개인우화’의 원초적 형태로 나타나지만, 현실과의 대화 가운데 점차 ‘자기신화’로 형성된다. 청소년의 ‘자기신화’는 시간 개념 확장, 이념 형성, 거울자아와의 교류라는 과정이 필요하다. 부모의 이혼에 부적응할 때 청소년의 ‘자기신화’는 희극보다 비극에 가까워진다. 따라서 본 연구는 한부모 이혼가족 청소년의 적응을 돕는 교육으로, 기독교 이야기 교육과정을 제안한다. 기독교 이야기 교육과정은 청소년의 ‘자기신화’ 변형을 촉진하는 교육으로 자기신화 구성과 분석, 상징으로써 기독교 이야기와 교류, 기독교 이야기로 자기신화 재해석, 미래 이야기의 구성, 소그룹에서의 역설과 이야기 나눔으로 진행된다. 기독교 이야기는 오랫동안 개인과 공동체의 정체감을 형성하는 규범으로 작동해 왔다. 본 연구는 문헌 연구라는 한계가 있지만, 청소년의 적응 문제와 이야기 정체감에 대한 학문적 논의에 기여할 수 있다.

영어초록

In the modern society, divorce is working as a major factor that changes the structure and form of the family. The divorce rate in our society increased sharply in 2014, and its social awareness has become common. In 2022, the number of divorces reached 93,232, of which 44.7% were cases with minor children. In order to overcome the dysfunction of divorce, various legal policies have been established in Korea, and social awareness is much more open, but research on children whose parents are divorced is insufficient and the subjects are somewhat limited. Given this situation, this study focuses on the identity issues faced by adolescents in single-parent families resulting from divorce. With the divorce of parents, adolescents are bound to experience various problems such as economic and emotional deprivation, parentalization due to environmental changes, conflict with parents or reversal of relationships, and social deprivation and confusion of identity. The discomfort of a single-parent family, along with the loss of friendly relationships and betrayal of the family, encourages the youth’s existential thinking, and the youth searches for meaning in efforts to overcome the experience of existence. In the midst of efforts to discover the unique meaning of life, adolescents form a story about the meaning of their life, or ‘self-myth’. Of course, ‘self-myth’ appears first in the original form of ‘individual allegory’, but is gradually formed as ‘self-myth' in conversation with reality. Adolescents’ ‘self-myth’ requires the process of expanding the concept of time, forming ideology, and exchanging with mirror self. When maladjusted to the divorce of parents, adolescents’ ‘self-myth’ becomes more of a tragedy than a comedy. Therefore, this study proposes a Christian story curriculum as an education that helps adolescents from single-parent divorced families to adapt. The Christian story curriculum is an education that promotes the transformation of adolescents’ ‘self-myth’ and proceeds with the composition and analysis of self-myth, Christian stories and exchanges as symbols, reinterpretation of self-myth with Christian stories, composition of future stories, and small group sharing. Christian stories have long operated as norms that form a sense of identity for individuals and communities. Although this study has limitations as a literature study, it contributes to contribute to academic discussions about adolescents’ adaptation problems and story identity.
