초록

오늘날 글로벌 경영환경에서의 공급사슬 경영은 새로운 전환점을 맞고 있다. 공급사슬 환경에서의 주요 이슈는 기업간 경쟁에서 공급사슬 간 경쟁으로 전환되고 있으며, 공급사슬에 참여하는 기업들이 보유하고 있는 자원과 역량을 어떻게 활용하느냐에 따라 공급사슬의 성과는 결정된다고 할 수 있다. 동적능력은 급변하는 환경에 대응하기 위해 기업 내․외부의자원을 통합하여 구축하고 재배치하는 기업능력을 의미한다. 공급사슬관리에 있어서 동적능력을 기반으로 공급사슬성과에미치는 영향관계를 실증적으로 수행한 연구는 많지 않다. 기존 연구는 주로 자원기반이론이나 혁신확산이론, 그리고 핵심역량이론을 기반으로 공급사슬의 영향요인과 성과간의 관계를 설명하고 있다. 하지만, 본 연구는 동태적 공급사슬 환경에서 공급사슬 동적능력을 통한 정보기술(IT) 역량이 공급사슬성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고자 한다.
본 연구는 동적능력 관점에서 공급사슬 상에서의 주도기업과 참여기업들이 동태적 환경변화와 협력기업의 요구에 빠르게대응하고 유연한 공급사슬 관리 및 성과를 증진하기 위한 새로운 연구의 틀을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 정보기술 역량과 공급사슬 성과간의 영향관계에 대해 직접효과를 분석하고, 공급사슬 동적능력을 매개변수로 도입하여 정보기술 역량과 공급사슬성과간의 매개효과를 설명할 수 있는 연구모형을 제시하고 실증적으로 검증하고자 한다. 본 연구는 설문조사를 통해116개 기업의 공급사슬 관리자를 대상으로 기업수준 데이터를 수집하였으며, PLS 통계분석을 이용하여 연구가설과 연구모델을 검증하였다. 실증분석 결과, 정보기술역량은 공급사슬 성과에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않지만, 공급사슬 동적능력을 통해 공급사슬 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 공급사슬 동적능력은 정보기술역량과 공급사슬성과 간에 유의한 매개효과가 있다는 것이 실증적으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 공급사슬 성과를 향상하기 위해 공급사슬 동적능력의 중요성에 대해 학문적, 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다는 측면에서 연구의 기여도가 있다고 할 수 있다.

Currently, business environment is characterized by fast and dramatic changes in customerexpectations. Deep competition and high technology are increasingly creating high level ofmarket uncertainty in turbulent environment. To respond current situation, firms are seekingto enhance dynamic capabilities across the supply chain. A key emphasis of supply chainmanagement (SCM) is to improve supply chain dynamic capabilities between trading partnersthrough IT competence. Most firms increasingly rely on information technology (IT) to improvethe process integration and the performance of supply chain. IT competence provides fundamentalsupport to supply chain dynamic capabilities and supply chain performance. And IT competencecan facilitate the development of higher-order supply chain dynamic capabilities. Supply chaindynamic capabilities (SCDC) refer to the ability of an organization to identify, utilize, andassimilate both internal and external resources information to facilitate the entire supply chainactivities in turbulent environment.
The primary objective of this study is to provide a new perspective in explaining how ITcompetence and IT-enabled supply chain dynamic capability can create a sustained competitiveadvantage and performance for supply chain of the organization. This research reviewed existingliteratures related to IT competence and supply chain dynamic capabilities, and classified themaccording to resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capabilities theory (DCT). Dynamic capabilitytheory follows the resource-based view in termof relevant guidance for future research of strategic management. The dynamic capability has been proposed as the firm’s ability to integrate,build, and reconfigure internal and external competences to address a higher level of turbulentenvironment.
This study provides a conceptual framework to explore the relationships among IT competence(IT flexibility, IT management), and supply chain dynamic capabilities (information exchange,supply chain coordination, IT integration, supply chain responsiveness), and supply chainperformance. Hypotheses are tested on survey data collected from 116 respondents charged insupply chain operation of manufacturing organizations. This study develops valid and reliableinstruments to measure the sub-dimensions of IT competence and supply chain dynamiccapabilities, and we applied SEM (structural equation modeling) to test causal relationshipsbetween research variables.
Empirical results show that IT competence does not have significant influence on supplychain performance, however, IT competence has significant influence on supply chain performancethrough supply chain dynamic capabilities. Especially, supply chain dynamic capabilities havesignificant relationship to supply chain performance. This finding suggests that IT competenceis a driver to facilitate the development of supply chain dynamic capabilities, and that supplychain dynamic capability is a determinant to improve supply chain performance of an organization.
The contribution of this study is to provide the importance and the necessity for the notion ofsupply chain dynamic capability that enhances supply chain performance.
