한국 전통가정교육과 대순사상 (Education in Korean Treditional Home and Daesoonjinri)

초록

본 연구는 전통적 가정교육의 특징을 논의하고 대순진리회의 교리는 물론 종도들의 생활에서 발견되는 특징과 문제점 및 대책을 논하였다.
전통가정교육이란 현재 가정교육에서도 옛날부터 내려오는 가치를 중시여기고 그 가치를 목적으로 하며 그 가치를 달성하기 위한 교육내용과 교육방법을 채택하고 있는 가정교육을 말한다. 따라서 대순사상 속에 담겨진 한국전통교육의 특성으로 발견된 내용은 다음과 같았다.
첫째, 가정의 화목함을 근본으로 자녀에게 모범이 되도록 하였다.
둘째, 부모에게 효행을 하도록 하되 강요가 아니라 깨달음을 그 방법으로 택하였다.
셋째, 윗사람과 아랫사람의 도리를 바르게 하도록 하였다. 윗사람은 수하를 사랑으로 지도하고, 손아랫사람은 윗사람을 존경하는 마음으로 섬기도록 하였다.
넷째, 타인에 대하여 언행을 바르게 하고 타인이 잘 되게 하는 마음의 자세를 갖게 하여 경쟁심, 시기심을 억제하는 인성교육을 실천하였다.
다섯째, 가정에서의 기본 생활 습관 및 예의범절을 중시하여 생활화 시켰으며, 협동심, 단결력, 상부상조, 책임감등 민주적 태도를 육성 시켰다.
이러한 특징은 매우 긍정적으로 간주 할 수 있으나 대순진리회 도인의 가정에서 찾아 볼 수 있는 교육의 문제점은 유아를 보육전문가도 없는 연락소에 맡겨 놓고 포덕 사업을 하고 있으며, 유아보육 및 교육의 문제를 소홀히 하고 있었다. 우선 각 지역에 있는 회관을 유아 보육 및 교육기관으로 활성화시키는 방안을 고안해야 할 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to find Daesoonjinri Taoist behavior and educational function in Korean Treditional t home .
A religious group following Cheungsan's creed, Daesoonjinrihoe emerged as a new folk religion at the turn of the century in Korea. At a time marked by social disorder, and disintegration moral values, Korea was them plunging into a state of chaos as abysmal as it was hopeless. Such ethos could not but worsen the situation of women. The feudal social system of Chosun trampled on women's life more heavily and Confucianism drove them to worsen the situation.
Maternal religion had a significant correlation with both boy's and girls' perceptions of parental attitudes.
The religious of the family, and sex of the child determined variations in Korean parents' child rearing attitudes.
Principles of child education presented in those traditional Korean child education books can be identified as (1) modeling and identification, (2) integration of knowledge and behavior, (3) spontaneity of learning, (4) learning by doing, (5) early education with consideration of critical periods, and (6) individualization.
Unlike other religions, the educational function of Daesoonjinrihoe accords with conflict theory due to the former's acceptance of idea of Ceungsan's Haewon(解怨, working off women's grudge) Sangsaeng(相生, living together). That is, the conflict arising from the unfair distribution of social authority can only be solved by pursin human equality, and women, in order to overcome their marginalized status, must develop their ability to struggle for freedom and emancipation. Daesoonjinri through individual and group education, instilled the notion of fundamental human right into people's minds, thereby developing their critical faculty and help them regain individual dignity. This way, Daesoonjinrihe (1) acknowledges equality of women and fosters will power to overcome social barriers, (2) encourages one's potential by reaffirming human independence, (3) succeeds to the tradition of filial devotion through proper worship of ancestors, and (4) helps institutional education by establishing various schools.
From the standpoint of Daesoonjinrikyo women are the root of all things in universe, and they are appreciated and respected more than men. In other words, it awakens the individuality of mal-treated women, children, and the poor, and helps them to restore human rights and to attain human release. Besides, it corrects the system to work off women's grudge by Haewonsangsaeng, mends women's status to realize their nobility, and enacts the principle of Jungeumjungyang for a desirable relationship between men and women, so that women may lead a balanced relationship with men, by fulfilling their Dori(道理. what one should do as a human). These principles are reflected in Taoists(道人)’ everyday life flowing to today, but the sexism of Confucianism, which is underlying our history, needs more change.
Therefore I want to suggest several things to promote the educational function Daesoonjinri First, Early child educational centers are required to be built, and more diverse educating programs should be developed and run.
Second, teaching methods for individual and group education need to be developed, and various teaching tools should be introduced to heighten the educational effect.
Third, the access to education should be opened to both sexes.
Fourth, educational programs for parents should be developed and the climate to raise children with bi- sexuality should be made.
Fifth, men's positive assistance and their change of thought are needed.
However, the significance of filial piety denotes love and respect of children for their parents and ancestors in Daesoonjinri taoist. Filial piety is the root of all virtues.
