초록

여기 가난한 한 명의 庶族 출신 문인지식인이 있다. 그의 이름은 李箕元이다. 우리는 그가 남긴 詩와 散文 외에 自撰年譜인 『洪厓自編』을 통해 그의 삶과 마주할 수 있다. 본고는 바로 이기원의 『홍애자편』에 대한 연구이다. 『홍애자편』에 초점을 둔 이유는, 자신의 연보를 쓰면서 그 창작의 동기와 기사를 취사하는 기준을 명시했고, 自己를 중심으로 지난 삶을 省察하였으며, 일상과 주변을 기록했다는 점 때문이다.
이와 같은 사항에 초점을 두고 『홍애자편』을 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 사실을 알게 되었다. 첫째, 그가 『홍애자편』을 창작한 동기는 존재의 증거를 남기고, 정확하고 공정하게 자신의 삶을 기록하고자 하는 의지에서 비롯되었다는 점이다. 둘째, 『홍애자편』 서사의 특징적인 모습은 다음의 두 가지 측면으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 우선, 현재 자신의 삶이 형성된 원인을 고구했다는 측면에서 省察的이고, 지난 삶과 ‘자기’를 상세하게 서술했다는 점에서 구체적이었다. 다음으로, 일상과 주변에 초점을 맞춘 서사를 통해 이기원의 기호와 취향은 물론, 그를 둘러싼 당시의 사회적 환경 역시 엿볼 수 있었다.
이로써 볼 때, 『홍애자편』은 조선후기를 대표하는 私的 系列의 자찬연보이며, 또 다른 대표작인 沈魯崇의 『自著紀年』과 함께 그 스펙트럼을 넓혔다는 점 등이 『홍애자편』에서 찾을 수 있는 문학사적 의미이다.

영어초록

Here is a intellect who was born to grandchild of a concubine. His name is Lee, Gi-won(李箕元)’, he also wrote poems and prose to express his feelings and thoughts like other intellects who lived in 18th century. His poetical work’s name is Hongae’s poetical work(洪厓詩集), his essay book’s name is Hongae’s essay book(洪厓文集). We can face his life through his poetical work and essay book. By the way, we must read his autobiographical chronology, Hongaejapyeon(洪厓自編), to understand his whole life and his inner side. This is a study on the Hongaejapyeon.
I studied on Hongaejapyeon, because there are the reason why Lee, Gi-won(李箕元) wrote this autobiographical chronology, and he adduced to explain the screening criteria, and he reflected on his life, and he drew everyday life in his autobiographical writing. In other words, the reason why I studied on Hongaejapyeon is its private feature.
This report researched these private features of Hongaejapyeon, with the result that there are following features.
First, creative motivations of this work are to leave evidence of life, and to write his life accurately and fairly. And he constructed the screening criteria, those are to keep away from self-deception and abasement, to objectify himself, and to write at the very least.
Second, I studied on Hongaejapyeon’s narrative, there are following features. First of all, he wrote his personality and the origin of his character. this attitude is self-respective. because, he introspected the reason of life. And he wrote his life concretely. The word, “concretely”, means that he described both outside and inside. Because of his this attitude, we can see the man, Lee, Gi-won distinctly. The next, we can also see the social circumstance in 18th century as well as his taste and preference in Hongaejapyeon. My research is focused on novel reading condition, story collecting condition, and the life of in 18th century. As a result, we can experience his society through Hongaejapyeon.
Autobiographical writings are to be individualized after the middle of the Joseon Dynasty. On the other hand, a autobiographical chronology is still official. Maybe because mother genre, namely chronology, is official. My suggestion that Hongaejapyeon is the major work of private affiliation is reasonable in this historical flow. And Hongaejapyeon broadened the prism of private affiliation with Shim, Ro-soong(沈魯崇)’s Jajeoginyeon(自著紀年) as the other major work of private affiliation.
