협력적 독서의 새로운 가능성:신토피칼 독서법과 ‘협력의 진화론’의 통합을 중심으로 (A New Possibility of Cooperative Reading: focused on Convergence of Syntopical Reading and ‘The theory of Evaluation of Cooperation’)

초록

고는 신토피칼 독서법과 게임이론에서 파생된 ‘협력의 진화론’ 간의 통합을 통해 새로운 과학적 독서 패러다임을 창안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 오늘날 우리의 독서 행위는 한 권의 책을 읽는 것에서 주제 중심의 종합적 독서인 신토피칼 독서로 전환해 가고 있다. 서로 다른 저자들과 같은 주제를 놓고 벌이는 협력과 사유의 경쟁은 노왁이 ‘초협력자’론에서 언급한 바와 같은 고도의 협력의 기술을 요한다. 지식정보화 사회에서 독자는 자신의 사유와 협력적으로 작용할 수 있는 자료와 정보를 가려낼 수 있는 능력과 가려낸 자료들 사이에서 최상의 이익을 창출해낼 수 있는 협력의 지점, 즉 일종의 내쉬 균형이라 할 수 있는 그 지점을 포착할 수 있는 초협력자로서의 독자가 되어야 한다.
이런 관점에서 본고는 초협력자로서의 독자, 신토피칼 독서의 5단계, 노왁의 협력의 5가지 메카니즘을 융합한 협력적 독서의 전략을 제안하였다. 신토피칼 독서는 널리 일반화되어 있으나 독자의 창조적이고 적극적인 독서행위의 과정에 대해서는 합리적인 설명이나 과학적인 이론의 뒷받침이 전무한 실정이었다. 본고는 신토피칼 독서의 이 같은 결핍을 게임이론을 바탕으로 한 협력의 진화론이라는 관점에서 보완하고자 하였다. 나아가 앞으로의 독서론이 독서 방법이나 독서 전략에 대한 이론으로만 그치는 것이 아니라 독서가 지향해야 할 지점이 무엇인지에 대한 보다 심도 있는 논의로 이어져야 한다는 점을 강조하고자 하였다.

영어초록

This study aims to a new reading paradigm by converging syntopical reading and evolution of cooperation from game theory. The reading paradigm that this research is trying to suggest is a method of reading which is a scientific and specific way of reading books. Nowadays, our action towards reading is changing from reading one book to syntopical reading. In other words, we are not reading a book independently, but we are doing syntopical reading which means we only read books that have the same topics. The competition between cooperation and thinking by different authors with the same topic needs advanced technical cooperation as mentioned by the mathematician and evolutionary biologist Nowak’s ‘Supercooperators’ theory. Moreover, in this information society that has huge amounts of data, readers need to have an ability that can distinguish cooperative data and information by collaborating with their thoughts. Also, they need to seize the cooperative point that can give best interests out of all the data. At this point, the cooperative point is one of Nash Equilibrium and readers have to be super cooperators in order to seize the cooperative point.
From this point of view in this study, readers as super cooperators examine the ways of cooperation to solve a certain problem with other texts. This way is made of converging syntopical reading’s five levels and Nowak’s five cooperative mechanism. Thus, this study gives specific examples and theory in the frame of cooperative reading. Syntopical reading is commonly known ; however, the readers’ creative action of reading in order to make authors do competition with each other has not been studied. This study tries to supplement a lack of syntopical reading from game theory and theory of cooperation and evolution. In another words, syntopical reading and ‘Supercooperators’ theory will notify the cooperative ways of reading books concretely. Further more, this research not only talks about reading theory that solely affects a method or strategy of reading, but also emphasizes the fact that reading theory should be connected to an ideal point that reading should reach at a high standard.
