환경고고학 자료를 통해 본 러시아 연해주 지역 옛사람들의 생존전략 연구 (A Study on the Survival Strategies of Ancient People in the Primorsky Krai, Russia through Environmental Archaeological Data)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 한반도 고대문화 형성과 교류에 직·간접적 영향을 끼친 러시아 연해주 지역 옛사람들의 생존전략 양상이 환경변화에 따라 어떻게 변화했는지를 최신 환경고고학 연구결과를 통해 살펴보는데 있다. 또한 한반도 지역과의 비교를 통해 고대 동북아 지역의 환경 및 문화사를 검토해 보고자 한다.
연해주 남부 지역의 최신 연구결과를 통한 고환경 복원을 검토한 결과, 자연환경 변화와 옛사람들의 생존전략의 변화 사이에 일정한 동시성이 있음이 확인되었다. 후기 구석기 시대 고고학 자료에 따르면 인구 분포는 도구를 만드는 데 필요한 식량 자원과 석재의 가용성을 반영하며, 그 문화집단은 한반도, 사할린, 아무르 강 유역의 고대 문화와 멀리 떨어진 곳에서 접촉했음을 보여주고 있다. 그리고 중국 동북부 지역의 물질문화의 유사성은 LGM과 후기 빙하기 초기 단계 동안 동북아시아 동부의 기후 조건과 동식물 군집의 유사성에 의해 결정되었을 가능성이 있었던 것으로 보인다. 후기 빙하기로 인해 빙하의 오랜 환경 안정성이 중단되었으며 후기 구석기시대 옛사람들은 새롭고 빠르게 변화하는 환경에 적응하기 위해 새로운 생존전략을 만들어 내야 했을 것이다. 육상 및 수생 생물계의 이와 관련된 주요 변화는 물질 복합체 및 생존전략의 변화를 포함하여 신석기시대 옛사람들이 만들어 낸 문화의 다양성을 설명할 수 있다. 홀로세의 지구 기온 상승으로 자연계의 먹이 스펙트럼이 넓어지면서 적응력이 뛰어난 신석기시대 옛사람들이 연해주 대륙과 해안지역 각지에 이주하게 되었다. 그러나 이어지는 기후 악화와 그에 따른 환경 및 이용 가능한 식량 자원의 변화는 여러 중기 신석기 문화가 사라지고 후기 신석기 시대에 농업을 포함한 새로운 문화 전통의 출현으로 이어지게 된다.
연해주 지역의 고환경 복원자료를 한반도 중서부 신석기시대 유적들과 비교해보면 가장 큰 특징은 한반도 중서부지역 홀로세의 화분대는 크게 4기로 구분되며, 이중 화분대 2기와 3기가 신석기시대의 환경과 관련이 깊은 것으로 구분하였다. 특히 화분대 3기의 기준이 되는 4,600∼4,200BP의 시기 변화양상은 기온의 한랭화가 내륙지역의 자원 환경을 악화시켜 신석기인의 활동중심지역이 해안 및 도서지역으로 이동한다고 보았다. 연해주 지역에서는 2,540BP의 시기와 유사한 양상을 보여준다고 할 수 있다. 특히 해상자원의 이용 확대로 패총이 증가한다는 공통점이 나타난다. 양 지역 모두 홀로세 후기의 환경변화가 생존전략에 가장 큰 영향을 끼친 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine through the results of the latest environmental archaeology research how the survival strategies of the ancient people of the Russian Maritime region, which had a direct and indirect influence on the formation and exchange of ancient culture on the Korean Peninsula, changed in response to environmental changes. Additionally, we would like to review the environmental and cultural history of ancient Northeast Asia through comparison with the Korean Peninsula.
As a result of reviewing the restoration of the paleoenvironment through the latest research results in the southern region of the Primorsky Krai, it was confirmed that there is a certain simultaneity between changes in the natural environment and changes in the survival strategies of ancient people. Upper Paleolithic archaeological data available from the southern Primorsky Krai show that population distribution reflects the availability of food resources and stones for tool making, and that cultural groups had distant contacts with ancient cultures of the Korean Peninsula, Sakhalin, and the Amur River Valley. It shows that it was done. And it appears that the similarities in material culture in northeastern China may have been determined by the similarities in climatic conditions and plant and animal communities in eastern Northeast Asia during the LGM and early stages of the Late Ice Age.
The Late Ice Age interrupted the long-standing environmental stability of the glaciers, and Upper Paleolithic peoples would have had to invent new survival strategies to adapt to a new and rapidly changing environment. These major changes in terrestrial and aquatic life systems, including changes in material complexes and survival strategies, can explain the cultural diversity of Neolithic peoples. As global temperatures increased during the Holocene, the food spectrum in the natural world broadened, allowing highly adaptable Neolithic people to spread widely across both the Maritime Continent and coastal areas. However, subsequent climate deterioration and subsequent changes in the environment and available food resources led to the disappearance of several Middle Neolithic cultures and the emergence of new cultural traditions, including agriculture, in the Late Neolithic.
Comparing paleoenvironmental restoration data from the Primorsky Krai with Neolithic relics from the midwestern Korean Peninsula, the biggest characteristic is that the Holocene flowerpots in the central western Korean Peninsula are largely divided into four periods, of which flowerpots 2 and 3 are closely related to the environment of the Neolithic Age. Separated. In particular, the pattern of changes in the period from 4,600 to 4,200 BP, which is the standard for the 3rd flowerpot period, is that the cold temperature worsened the resource environment in inland areas, and the center of activity of Neolithic people moved to coastal and island areas. It can be said that the Primorsky Krai shows similar patterns to the period of 2,540 BP. In particular, a common characteristic appears to be that shell middens are increasing due to the expansion of the use of marine resources. In both regions, it was confirmed that environmental changes in the late Holocene had the greatest impact on survival strategies.
The use of natural science data through paleoenvironmental restoration is expected to take on a more important position in archeology and paleoanthropology in the future due to the development of science and technology. A detailed comparative review of the Maritime Province and the Korean Peninsula, which had an important influence on the formation of Northeast Asian Neolithic culture, will be considered as a future research project.
