초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a Christian group counseling program for the enhancement of spiritual well-being and wellness and to examine the effect based on spiritual well-being, wellness and spirituality theory.
For the purpose, the research goal was set as follows. First, a Christian group counseling program for Christian spiritual well-being and wellness was developed on the basis of spiritual well-being, wellness, and spirituality theory.
Second, the effect of the program was evaluated based on measurement of spiritual well-being, wellness, quality of life before and after the program.
The program contained relationship with God consistently and ‘relationship with self’, ‘relationship with others’, ‘relationship with healing community’,‘ relationship with ecology community’, respectively.
The program was administered to the experimental group (N=15) and the control group (N=12), who were middle-aged men and women from 35 years old to 45 years old. The research design of this study is based on a pre-test, a post-test and a follow-up test between the both groups. The measuring scales were spiritual well-being scale, wellness scale and quality of life. The collected data were statistically analyzed through pairet-test by using the SPSS 12.0 program.
Results showed that the program had many positive effects; relationship with God, self, others, healing community and ecology community in the sub-scales of spiritual well-being scale, wellness scale, quality of life scale.
Several research limitations were listed, and research methodology were recommended for further study. Though the spiritual well-being and wellness are main subject of positive psychology. they are short of Christian theological foundations. Therefore the Christian counseling scholars should set up their theological basis on the ground of the Christian world view.
