FTA시대 전시산업의 해외진출 결정요인 분석 (Analysis of Determinants of Overseas Expansion of Exhibition Industry in the FTA Era)

초록

최근 활발하게 진행된 FTA 서비스 협정과 지자체 및 정부의 전시산업 지원으로 전시산업의 해외진출이 증가하였지만 그 사례가 많지 않아서 전시 서비스산업의 해외진출 결정요인에 대한 연구가 거의 없다. 본 연구는 FTA서비스 무역 양허 안에 대한 논의를 살펴보고, 전시산업의 해외진출 결정요인을 이론적, 실증적으로 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 전시산업에서 10년 이상 종사한 전문가를 대상으로 설문조사와 면접조사, 그리고 AHP 및 FGI의 의사결정 기법을 통해 전시산업의 해외진출을 결정하는 생산요소로서 상품, 전시자본, 전시인력과 더불어 전시 서비스와 지식 요소의 우선순위 결정을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구의 추정결과는 전시산업의 해외진출을 위해 먼저 해외전시사업의 경험과 현지국 시장에 대한 조사가 선행된 다음 전시 상품, 자본, 전시 인력의 3가지 요소를 주축으로 해외진출 전략을 수립하는 것이 가장 효율적이라는 것을 보여준다. 실제 FTA를 활용한 비즈니스 모델의 중요성은 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

Exhibition and convention industry has been recognized to lead the future engine of economy in the United States and the Europe by these governments. The Korean exhibition and convention industry fell short of its performances and provided only hundreds of events over about 10 exhibition centers nationwide. The number of people coming to the events and the size of exhibition are relatively small to these events in the United States and the Europe. The purpose of the Korean domestic exhibition and convention industry have focused just on promoting the domestic or export sales, not on doing itself as the high valued promising industry. Under the new era of FTA, the new service treaty will facilitate the overseas investment activities of the Korean exhibition and convention industry in different ways such as human capital, knowledge, and cultures. This paper purpose to provide what are the important determinants of overseas investment of the exhibition and convention industry.
This study explains the FTA treaty discussions on the international service sector and examines the determinants of the overseas investment activities of the exhibition industry empirically and theoretically. Using the survey data from the employees of the exhibition industry, and the group interview data, the inferential analysis techniques of the AHP and FGI provides the orderings of decision making on the determinants of overseas investment of the exhibition industry. The most important factors among them are the brand commodity, capital and man power for exhibition industry in orders, while the exhibiting service and know-how are the next important determinants. The FTA business model seems not to be important in determining overseas investment of the exhibition industry.
