초록

Following Japan’s defeat in 1950 there was a ‘circle movement’ began in Japan and the key to understanding the mindset of the generation could be found within the publications of the time. The Osaka Joseon Poets Association’s publication “Jin Dal Rae” was responsible for uniting the young literature buffs in 1953, during a time when Korean Japanese movement was most difficult for those who had witnessed the war in their motherland from Japan. However, the conflict between the awakening of people wanting to study literature and their main opinion and The Jochonryeon in Japan, saw the end the publication’s political influence. For the youths who had never written poetry before, their participation in ‘Jin Dae Rae’ allowed them to obtain poetry as a form of expression. Although culturally and artistically immature, the impact of proclaiming one’s life was extremely significant and the crude publication, printed on a copying press, began a remarkable chain reaction. From very Korean scenes of horror and anti-American propaganda to personal life experiences, events, family and neighbours, the scope and range of content in their poetry allowed them to find exposure as ‘Korean Japanese’. The most marginalized Korean Japanese women were able to give voice to their lives in a public forum through ‘Jin Dal Rae’.
