초록

오규원 시세계에 대해서는 일반적으로 시인이 가지고 있는 시어에 관한 자의식과 이를 통해 구현되는 수사적 기법을 통해 이해되고 있다. 이러한 이해 방식은 ‘날이미지시’라는 오규원의 후기 시세계에서 새롭게 모색된 시 창작 방법을 밝히는 데에 있어서 매우 중요한 접근 방식이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 이해 방식에 덧붙여 본고는 ‘날이미지시’에서 특징적으로 나타나는 표상 공간의 내밀한 모습을 분석하고자 했다. 이는 ‘날이미지시’가 궁극적으로 어떠한 세계 인식을 토대로 전개되고 있으며, 그 과정에서 두드러지게 나타나는 특징적인 요소는 무엇인지를 밝히고자 하는 노력에 해당한다.
‘날이미지시’의 표상 공간이 가지고 있는 주요 특징은 ‘사이 공간’으로 명명할 수 있는 잠재성의 공간에 비인칭적인 주체에 의해 포착된 객관 세계의 모습이 묘사되고 있다는 점이다. 이러한 양상은 구체적으로 환유의 수사와 만날 때 의미론적으로 무의미의 경향성을 띠게 된다. 이것은 ‘날이미지시’가 동일성보다는 차이성을 추구하는 세계임을 의미한다. 그러므로 변별적인 자질을 갖춘 다양체로서의 시․공간이 ‘날이미지시’의 시상의 전개 과정에서 발견되는 것이다. 그러한 세계는 ‘수렴’과 ‘발산’의 작용을 동시에 수반하며, 세계 내 변화, 운동, 생성 등을 표현한다.
‘날이미지시’에서 나타나는 잠재성의 모습이 표상 공간 내에서 어떻게 구체적으로 나타나는가를 보다 자세히 살펴보기 위해 본고는 시․공간의 양상을 효과적으로 보여주는 영화 기법과의 상호 관련성에 주목하여 이를 확인하고자 했다. ‘날이미지시’에서 나타나는 시․공의 모습은 영화에서의 편집 방식과 ‘쁠랑 세깡스’와 유사한 방식으로 재현된다. 그것은 시간의 연속과 공간의 거리를 인위적으로 단절시키고 하나의 앵글로 포착하기 어려운 객관 세계의 모습을 발산적으로 펼쳐 보이는 방식에 의해 표현되거나, 여러 개의 동적 화면을 전제로 대상 간의 물리적인 거리를 응축시키거나 수렴시켜 그 안에서 벌어지는 운동성과 변화를 드러내는 방식에 의해 구체화된다. 궁극적으로 이러한 고찰은 ‘날이미지시’가 객관 세계가 존재론적인 의미의 발생 차원에서 구현되고 있다는 점으로 모아진다.

영어초록

The characteristic of the representation space of 'raw image poetry' is potentiality. The space of potentiality implies the impersonality of the subject and about the object sometimes it is converged to one meaning and it also exhales to many meanings. That is, it is a space that waits for the differentiation of meaning and also a space that is realized as a manifold in which 'the difference itself' is inherent. The appearance of this potentiality is represented by the 'interval' space. Here the 'interval' doesn't have the sameness such as 'A is B' as the premise but it is A and it is also B and it is a space that newly creates something that does neither belong to A nor B and in this point the paradoxical coexistence of meaning and meaninglessness could be confirmed.
The reason why 'raw image poetry' came to have this appearance was because metonymy conducted a main function in the process of the representation of poetry, and the metonymy that was used at this time was something that goes from the direction of 'meaning' to the direction of 'meaninglessness' and thereby reveals non-identity that exists in the objective world. At this point the question of why 'raw image poetry' is formed on the basis of the principle of metonymy can be solved. This is deeply related to the unique recognition system by which Kyoowon Oh sees the objective world. He judged that a thinking that centers on the subject can transform and distort the objective world and in order to escape this he intended to abandon the principle of a metaphor that constitutes the regulatory system of ideas and to unfold the image of poetry centering on the principle of metonymy in which only 'an empty signifier' floats.
In 'raw image poetry', the way of metonymy excludes the poetry image’s coming to a conclusion of a fixed meaning. Therefore in 'raw image poetry' the process of unfolding of an image is not converged to a specific meaning but exhales. This appears not through the way to give a meaning to the objective world but through the process to describe it as it is. In this process the characteristic appearance about time and space that 'raw image poetry' has is revealed. That shows an aspect of time and space on the basis of 'simultaneity'. This appearance could be confirmed through the mutual relation with the technique that effectively shows an aspect of time and space. The appearance of time and space that appears in 'raw image poetry' is reproduced in a way that is similar to the way of editing films and 'plan-sequence'. The process of unfolding of an image in 'raw image poetry' is expressed by artificially severing the continuity of time and the distance of space and by letting the appearance of the objective world that is difficult to capture with one angle stand in line side by side in a way of metonymy.
The meaning and value of 'raw image poetry' of Kyoowon Oh can be confirmed through the above discussion. It may be found in something that formed the difference that makes the existence of the objective world in the dimension of ontology possible in a poetic way. The main subject could confirm that 'raw image poetry' was realizing the difference that is inside in the objective world through the potentiality that can be characterized as the 'interval' space. Difference is the element that can realize the objective world the most truthfully and the most realistically. The meaning of 'raw' in 'raw image poetry' is not irrelevant to this. As the secret of existence that the objective world has is revealed to the outside through difference and the meaning of the objective world is renewed again and again by that, the direction and purpose of 'raw image poetry' are also in something that lets the meaning of existence be generated newly.
