초록

本稿は日本の歴史的過誤である南京大虐殺の惨状と作家である村上春樹の変化が反映された『騎士団長殺し』を中心に、日本社会に蔓延する「歴史修正主義の根本的な原因について分析したものである。作品での「南京大虐殺」の挿入は、加害者の歴史を社会に喚起する役割を果たしている。また、同作に登場人物は、太平洋戦争を起こした戦争世代から現代に至るまで多様な世代が描かれている。ところが、本作品においては今まで春樹の作品でペルソナとも言える「団塊世代」だけが不在する特異点を見せる。戦後、第1次ベビーブーム世代である団塊世代の苦労の上に日本の経済は大きく成長したが、その反面、戦争の責任を回避してしまい、過去史の継承という重要な召命は見落としてしまった。結局、彼らが作り出した過去との断絶は、根を失った後続世代を産み出したのである。したがって、作品における団塊世代像の不在は、歴史の「消去」を引き起こしてしまったことを象徴している。さらに、作品において「私」が具彦の精神を受け継ぎ、行方不明になったまりえを探すために努力する姿は、現在社会の重役となった団塊ジュニア世代に与えられた責務を示している。行方不明になったまりえを見つけるため、「私」は過去の産物である騎士団長を殺さなければならない状況に向き合う。騎士団長はそれは再生のための死であり、邪悪なる父を殺すことだという正当性を与える。過去のイデアである騎士団長を自らの手で処断し、その血を「私」が被ることは回避してきた歴史を自分の一部として受け入れることを象徴する。つまり、これは親の世代が果たせなかった一連の作業を次の世代が成し遂げてこそ正しい未来を迎えることができるというメッセージを伝える重要な場面だと言える。このように、同作で様々な世代像が登場するのは、社会が一瞬に作られたものではなく、前の世代の過去が蓄積されて作られた「現在」の産物であることを表すための設定であったともいえるだろう。

영어초록

This study analyzes the fundamental cause of the historical revisionism prevalent in Japanese society, focusing on <Killing Commendatore>, which depicts the Nanjing Massacre, a historical error in Japan, and which reflects a change in the subject matter of writer Haruki Murakami. The insertion of the “Nanjing Massacre” into the work serves to evoke the history of its perpetrators in society. The novel also depicts various generations, from the war generation that started the Pacific War to the present. Murakami’s works thus far show the peculiarity that only the “baby boomers,” called personas, are absent. After the war, Japan’s economy significantly grew thanks to the sacrifice and struggle of the baby boomers. However, the baby boomers avoided responsibility for the war and overlooked the important mission of inheriting history. In the end, the disconnect from the past they created gave birth to the next generation, who lost their roots. Therefore, the absence of baby boomers in the work symbolizes the “erasure” of history. Furthermore, the novel depicts “I” inheriting the spirit of Tomohiko and trying to find Marie, who has disappeared. This shows the responsibilities of the baby boomers, who play a central role in modern society. find Marie, “I” must kill the Knight Commander, a product of her past. The Knight Commander justifies this as “death for rebirth” and “killing the evil father.” The acts of killing the Knight Commander, the idea of the past, with his own hands, and receiving his blood symbolize accepting the history he has avoided as part of himself. In other words, it is an important scene conveying the message that the next generation can achieve the right future only when the next generation accomplishes a series of tasks that their parents’ generation failed to accomplish. In this way, it can be said that the appearance of various generations in this novel serves to show that society was not created in an instant but is a product of the “present” created as the accumulated past of the previous generation.
