초록

이 글은 중국 송 대 ‘신유학의 수양론 형성 과정’과 그에 미친 ‘불교 선 수행’의 영향에 대해 논구한 것이다. 따라서 이 글은 유가의 관점에서 불교의 선 수행을 비판하는 논지로 진행되었다. 송 대 신유학의 이론체계는 불교비판 토대 위에서 형성되었다.
신유학은 선진유가와 한당유학이 갖추지 못했던 새로운 형이상학적 구조와 철학적 개념들이 도입되어 형성된 유학 체계이다. 선진유가는 실천적이고 형이하학적인 면이 강했다. 한당유학은 경학에 치중해 있었다. 이에 반해 송 대 신유학은 치밀한 이론적 구조와 형이상학적 체계를 갖추게 된다.
신유학의 수양론은 주돈이로부터 출발하였다. 주돈이는 당시 유불도를 융합한 학문적 경향 속에서 『태극도설』을 저술했다. 이러한 『태극도설』을 중심으로 확립된 주돈이의 수양 이론을 ‘주정설’이라고 한다.
이 글은 첫 째로 주돈이의 『태극도설』을 중심으로 한 주정설과 불교의 선 수행 문제를 다루고 있다. 신유학의 형성과정에서 수양 이론은 주돈이의 주정설을 비판하면서 신유학 특유의 수양론이 전개된다. 주돈이의 주정설에 대한 비판적 논의가 신유학적 수양 이론 형성에 직접적인 계기가 되었다. 주정설은 선불교(禪佛敎) 일부 종파의 수양법과 주돈이의 무욕에 의한 수양법이 대표적이다.
두 번째로 장재의 기철학과 불교의 수행 문제를 다루었다. 그다음, 이정의 경사상과 불교의 수행 문제, 그리고 주희의 수양론 형성과 불교의 선 수행 문제를 유가의 관점에서 비판적으로 논술하고 있다. 특히 주희의 수양 이론은 인성과 천리(天理)와의 관계를 규명하는데서 출발한다. 이 논의 과정에 마음의 미발과 이발의 문제가 중요하게 대두되게 된다. 유가에서 말하는 마음의 미발과 불교에서 보는 마음의 미발은 어떻게 차이가 있을까.
‘미발’과 ‘이발’은 『중용(中庸)』에 나오는 개념이다. 송 대에 유행했던 선종 어록에는 ‘미발(未發)’이나 ‘미생(未生)’을 주요 개념으로 하는 여러 공안(公案)이 있다. 선종에서는 자신의 본래성품으로 향하게 되는 의식을 ‘미발’이라고 보았다.
이런 측면에서 본다면 신유학은 미발을 내재적 본성으로 보고, 이 본성의 발로를 이발이라고 보았다. 선종에서는 외재적 이발에서 내재적 미발(본래성품)을 인식하고자 했던 것이다.

There are two major aims in this study that is, one is forming process of Sung(宋) dynasty a method of Neo-Confucianism. And other is to follow in Buddhist meditation caused by it that is the former.
Therefore, the study is to criticize on Buddhist meditation through Neo-Confucianism.
Neo-Confucianism is the system that is formed by introducing new metaphysical and philosophical concepts that had not looked up from the Handang dynasty Confucianism(漢唐儒學), the original Confucian.
The original Confucian had a strong focus on the practice and hylic features. By comparison, Neo-Confucianism has set the elaborated theoretical structure and the metaphysical systems equipped with.
In this articles, it is about the forming process of Sung(宋) dynasty a method of Neo-Confucianism and the following effect of Buddhist Zen meditation So, it has compiling on the basis of criticizing Buddhist Zen meditation as the point of Confucianism.

A method of Neo-Confucianism has started from Chou Tuni(修養論). He wrote about 『An explanatory diagram of Supreme ultimate(太極圖說)』 in the mood of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism tended by learning. It is called emotionalism(主情說) which was made out by Chou Tuni conformed by spreading from 『an explanatory diagram of Supreme ultimate(太極圖說)』.
At the first session, there are emotionalism centered concept from an explanatory diagram of Supreme ultimate and the matter on Buddhist Zen meditation. The theory of cultivation formed Neo- Confucianism has wildly developed with the racy style by criticizing emotionalism of Chou Tuni. The criticized matter on emotionalism of Chou Tuni was the motivation in forming the a method of Neo-Confucianism directly. Emotionalism is one of the representatives of a method of of some Zen buddism part and freedom from avarice(無慾) of Chou Tuni.
Secondly, it has dealt about Chang Tsai(張載)'s Chi philosophy, Erh Ch'eng(二程)'s the mindfulness as being the problem of the buddism cultivation and, critically stated the forming of Chu Hsi(朱熹)'s the theory of cultivation and the problem of Buddhist meditation as the view of Confucianism. Especially Chu Hsi's the theory of cultivation started from making the definition clear the relationship between human nature and The rule of heaven. On this part, it appears about the matter the state of pre-aroused feelings and the state of aroused feelings of mind. How much the difference between the state of pre-aroused feelings of the mind of Confucianism and buddism?It is the concept from 『Golden mean(中庸)』 to explain the state of pre-aroused feelings and buddism. The analects of Zen buddism famous in Sung(宋) term had various topic(公案) which deals on the state of pre-aroused feelings being important. In Zen buddism, it is the state of pre-aroused feelings to head for consciousness toward the originally oneself.
