한국 대중가요 연구사 검토 (General Approach about Studies on Korean modern Popular Songs)

초록

본 연구는 한국 대중가요의 연구사를 전반적으로 검토한 것이다. 먼저, 연구의 관심사들을 전반적으로 살펴보면, 언어·문학적 연구(60), 정치·사회적 연구(55), 교육적 연구(51), 역사적 연구(35), 음악적 연구(20), 실천비평(19), 영향·비교연구(16), 작가·가수론(15), 콘텐츠·제작·기획·디자인·메니지먼트·유통·산업(13) 연구, 언론·매체·정보·컴퓨터학적 연구(11), 문화·관광·마케팅·세계화 연구(8), 심리·치료·의학(4)적 연구, 연구방법 연구(2), 철학적 연구(2), 지리·역사학적 연구(2), 종교학적 연구(2), 기타 연구(9), 교양·일반(12) 등으로 나타나고 있다.
이러한 전반적인 양상을 각 영역별로 검토해 보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 언어·문학적 연구 분야에서는, 언어학적 특징, 가사의 전통 계승, 시대적 특성, 언어적 특성, 장르적 특징, 작가적 특성, 주제 문제, 이데올로기, 계층성 등이 다루어지고 있다. 둘째, 정치·사회적 연구 분야에는, 가요운동, 풍속사, 이데올로기, 정책, 표절시비, 정체성, 소비자 등등, 매우 다양한 연구를 보이고 있다. 셋째, 교육적 연구 분야에서는 주로 초중고등학교 교과서에 실린 대중가요를 중심으로 해서 교수-학습에 관한 논의들이 주류를 이룬다. 넷째, 역사적 연구 분야에서는, 우리 대중가요의 통시적·역사적 전개 과정과 관련된 민족지적 자료 정리, 전통성 논의, 변화 논의, 이면사, 통사 등 다양한 시도들이 전개되고 있다. 다섯째, 음악적 연구 분야에서는 주로 양식/장르사적 논의들이 주류를 형성하며, 이 외에 선율, 발성 및 가창, 음향 등에 관한 연구들이 나타나고 있다. 여섯째, 실천비평 분야에서는 주로 평론집 형태로 파악할 수 있는데, 패트론적 시각, 사회-정치적 비평, 전기적 비평, 양식/장르론적 비평, 제도론적 비평 등이 보이고 있다. 일곱째, 영향·비교연구 분야에서는, 주로 가사, 양식, 음계, 문화적 특성 등의 비교가 나타난다. 여덟째, 작가론·가수론 분야에서는, 근대 초기 작사가 연구, 유명 가수에 관한 가수론, 몇몇 유명인들의 자서전 등이 주류를 형성하는 특징이 보인다. 아홉째, 기획·제작·디자인·경영·유통·산업 분야의 연구에서는, 그 각각 전문 영역들에 관한 몇 편의 연구들이 보일 정도로, 아직 그 초기 단계의 연구 수준을 드러내고 있다. 열째, 언론·매체·정보·컴퓨터학적 연구 분야도 기획· 산업 분야의 연구와 비슷하게 새로운 연구 영역으로서의 특징들을 드러내면서, 빠른 속도로 활성화될 전망이다. 열한째, 문화·관광·마케팅·세계화 분야의 연구도 앞의 두 분야 못지않게 매우 활발한 연구로 나타날 조짐이 보이고 있다. 특히, 최근 들어 더욱 큰 확산력을 확보해 나아가는 ‘한류’ 혹은 ‘K-pop’ 등의 전 세계적 흐름은 이 분야의 연구에 많은 활력을 불어넣을 전망이다. 열두째, 이 외에도, 심리·치료·의학적인 연구 분야도, 노래를 좋아하는 우리 민족의 특징 및 노령화 문제와 더불어 앞으로 더욱 더 탄력을 받을 것으로 보인다.

The whole aspects of Korean modern popular songs are as follows; firstly, there are eighteen areas in studies on Korean modern popular songs; (numerals in the blanks are numerals of articles and books) linguistic-literary studies(60); socio-political studies(55); educational studies(51); historical studies(35); musical studies(20); practical criticisms(19); influential and comparative studies(16); writer and singer studies(15); studies of contents, productions, planning, designs, managements, circulations·industries(13); studies of speech, mass medias, informations, computer sciences(11); studies of culture, sightseeing, marketing, globalization(8); studies of psychology·medical science(4); studies of approach method(2); philosophical studies(2); geographical-historical studies(2); religious studies(2); studies of the others(9); cultural and general studies(12), et cetera.
In the area of linguistic-literary studies, there are many studies of linguistic characteristics of words of songs, continuities of traditions in words of songs, historical characteristics, features in genres, writers, themes, ideologies, social class, et cetra.
In the area of socio-political studies, there are studies of movements of popular songs, history of customs, socio-political ideologies, policies, plagiarism, identities, consumers, et cetra.
In the area of educational studies, there are studies about methods of teaching-learning centered on popular songs in the schoolbooks. In the area of historical studies, there are studies of ethnographies of historical materials, traditions, transitions, inside srories, total histories, et cetra.
In the area of musical studies, there are mainly studies of styles/genres, and melodies and rhythmes, vocalizations, sounds, et cetra, In the area of practical criticism, there are studies of patronal approach, socio-political criticism, biographical criticism, stylistic criticism, institutional criticism, et cetra. In the comparative studies, there are comparative studies of words of songs, styles, musical scales, cultural characteristics,In the area of studies of writers and singers, there are studies of writers in early modern times, very famous singers, autobiographies about some famous singers.
In the area of studies of planning, designs, managements, circulations·industries, there are several articles about each special branch, and in the area of studies of speech, mass medias, informations, computer sciences, there are several articles, too. But we think these two area of studies will be developed in very fast progress. We think that area of studies of speech, mass medias, informations, computer sciences will be developed, too.
The area of studies of culture, sightseeing, marketing, globalization will be developed with activating of ‘Korean Wave(Han-ryu)’ and ‘K-pop’. In the other hand, the area of studies of psychology·medical science will be developed with aging society.
