부여나성 북나성Ⅴ·Ⅵ(청산성구간) 건물지 출토 중국도자의 연대와 역사적 의미 (The Chronology and historical significance of Chinese porcelain excavated from northern walls of the Buyeo Naseong fortress V·VI (Cheongsanseong Fortress section))

초록

충청남도 부여군 부여읍의 동북쪽에 위치한 청산성은 부소산성과 북나성을 통해 연결되며 남쪽으로 서나성이 지나는 기점에 해당되는 유적이다. 2014~2015년 백제고도문화재단에 의한 발굴조사 결과 유단식의 평탄대지면을 조성하고 그곳에 굴립주건물지와 적심건물군이 시차를 두고 조영되었음이 밝혀져 백제 사비기의 고고학적 연구에 여러 획기를 마련하였다. 특히 작지 않은 수량의 중국도자가 출토된 점은 그 중요성이 매우 큼에도 이에 대한 면밀한 분석에는 이르지 못했다.
북나성 건물지 유적에서 출토된 중국도자는 청자와 채회유도로 기종은 완이 대부분이다. 생산지는 중국의 북조로 볼 수 있고, 6세기 후반을 전후한 시기에 해당된다. 이러한 사례는 그간 크게 부각되지 못하였지만 부여 능산리사지에서 출토된 청자완, 홍성 남장리 출토 녹유완과 더불어 북조에서 제작된 자기가 백제에 이입되었다는 데 그 의미가 있다.
이 자기들의 이입은 위덕왕 집권 이후 북조와의 정치적 교섭 시점과 정합성을 띠고 있는데, 남조일변도의 대중국 외교에서 진전되어 위덕왕의 중흥책에 따른 북조와의 교류를 통해 백제로 유입되었고, 6세기 후반 위덕왕의 국내 체제정비 과정에서 북조문물의 이입이나 영향이 드러났던 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이는 『三國史記』와 중국 정사에 기록된 북조왕조와 백제 간 조공책봉 기사를 통해서도 잘 드러난다.
이러한 점을 고려해 볼 때 북나성의 유구와 그에서 출토된 중국도자는 중요한 과제를 제시해 주고 있으며, 향후 사비기 백제와 북조의 관계에 대한 심도있는 논의가 진행될 필요가 있다

영어초록

Cheongsanseong Fortress, located in the northeast of Buyeoeup Buyeogun, Chungcheongnam-do, is the ruins connected to Bugnaseong Fortress through Busosanseong Fortress, and its location corresponds to the starting point where Seonaseong Fortress is located in the south. The findings of the 2014-2015 Baekje Culture Foundation Excavation provided several breakthroughs in archaeological research on the Sabi Period of the Baekje dynasty by the discovery of the staggered construction of ground or lifted floor building and pillar foundation building groups on tiered flat surfaces. In particular, the excavation of Chinese porcelain in relatively large quantities has not been closely analyzed despite its significance.
The Chinese porcelain excavated from the ruins of the Bugnaseong Fortress building site were mostly celadon and painted lead-glazed pottery bowls. They appear to have been produced in the Northern Dynasties, circa the late 6th century. These cases were not remarkable, but the significance lies in the importation of porcelain produced in the Northern Dynasties along with celadon bowls excavated from the Neungsan-ri Temple Site in Buyeo, as well as green glazed bowls excavated from Namjang-ri, Hongseong.
The porcelain importation is consistent with political negotiations with the Northern Dynasties after King Wideok came to power. It was introduced to Baekje through exchanges with the Northern Dynasties according to the revival measures of King Wideok that had been developed from diplomacy with China devoted to the Southern Dynasties, and it appears to be the exposure of the introduction or influence of the Northern Dynasties in the process of King Wideok’s effort to improve the domestic system during the second half of the 6th century. This importation can be clearly seen in articles on the tribute system between Northern Dynasties and Baekje recorded in The Chronicles of the Three States (三國史記) and Chinese history.
Considering these facts, the remains of the Bugnaseong Fortress and Chinese porcelain excavated from it present an important assignment, and an in-depth discussion on the relationship between Sabi Period Baekje and the Northern Dynasties will be necessary in the future.
