초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 발달장애인 보호자 돌봄 부담과 그들의 삶의 만족도 간의 상관관계에서 발달장애인 취업이 주 보호자의 삶의 만족도를 조절하는지를 검증하여 발달장애인의 취업 중요성을 강조하는데 있다. 연구방법: 연구를 위한 자료와 표본은 2020년 발달장애인 일과 삶 실태조사3,000가구의 중 생산 가능 연령대인 15~64세의 발달장애인과 주 보호자를 연구대상으로 한 장하여 2,574명을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 인구사회학적 특성을 알아보기 위한 빈도분석과 기술통계를 실시하였으며, 발달장애인 당사자 및 주 보호자 그리고 가구의 일반적 특성에 따른 주 보호자의삶의 만족도 차이 분석을 위해 차이(t/F-test) 검정을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 취업의 조절효과를검증하기 위해서는 PROCESS MACRO model(1)을 활용하였다. 연구결과: 발달장애인 보호자의돌봄 부담 정도는 발달장애인이 취업을 했을 경우 미취업에 비해 낮았으며, 전반적 삶의 만족도는미취업했을 때 보다 취업했을 때 더 높았다. 삶의 만족에서 취업의 조절효과 검증에서는 돌봄 부담이 커질수록 삶의 만족도가 감소했으며 발달장애인이 취업했을 경우 미취업에 비해 주 보호자의 삶의 만족도가 덜 감소하였다. 결론 및 제언: 발달장애인의 취업은 발달장애인 보호자의 돌봄 부담으로 인한 삶의 만족도가 감소하는 것을 유의미하게 낮추는 것으로 나타났으므로, 발달장애인 취업을위한 다양한 정책방안이 마련이 필요하며 이를 이용·활용할 수 있도록 서비스에 대한 홍보 노력도 필요하다.

영어초록

Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this study is to examine whether the employment of individuals with developmental disabilities moderates the relationship between the caregiving burden of their caregivers and the caregivers' life satisfaction. By doing so, the study aims to emphasize the importance of employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Research Method: Data and samples for the study were drawn from the 2020 Survey on Work and Life of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, focusing on responses from households with 3,000 individuals, specifically those with employed individuals with developmental disabilities and their primary caregivers. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were conducted to understand the demographic characteristics. An independent samples t-test was used to examine differences between employed and unemployed groups. Finally, to verify the moderating effect of employment, PROCESS MACRO model(1) was utilized. Research Results: The caregiving burden of caregivers was lower when the individual with developmental disabilities was employed compared to when they were unemployed. Overall life satisfaction was higher when the individual was employed. In testing the moderating effect of employment on life satisfaction, it was found that as caregiving burden increased, life satisfaction decreased. However, this decrease in life satisfaction was less pronounced when the individual with developmental disabilities was employed compared to when they were unemployed. Conclusion and Recommendations: Employment of individuals with developmental disabilities significantly mitigates the decrease in life satisfaction of caregivers caused by caregiving burden. Therefore, various policy measures to promote the employment of individuals with developmental disabilities are necessary. Additionally, efforts to publicize and utilize these services should be enhanced.
