백워드 설계를 적용한 초등체육수업 실행연구 (A Study on the Action Research of Elementary Physical Education Class Applying Backward Design)

초록

본 연구는 백워드 설계를 적용한 체육수업을 실시하고 학생들의 경험, 교사와 학생의 관점에서 백워 드 설계를 적용한 체육수업의 의미, 백워드 설계를 적용한 효과적인 체육수업 설계방안을 도출하였다. 이를 위해 백워드 설계를 통해 4학년 도전 및 경쟁영역 지도계획을 수립하고 서울 소재 G초등학교 4 학년 한 학급(남 9, 여 8)을 대상으로 12주에 걸쳐 적용하였다. 연구를 위한 자료는 교사 수업일지, 학 생 평가지, 학생 소감문, 면담을 통해 수집해 귀납적 자료 분석 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 백워드 설계를 적용한 체육수업에서 연구 참여자들은 운동지식 대한 이해 및 운동수행능력 향상, 체육수업 만족도, 자신감, 협동능력 등에서 긍정적 변화를 나타냈다. 둘째, 백워드 설계를 적용한 체육수업은 교육과정, 수업, 평가를 일체화시키는 연결고리와 학생의 성 장과 발달을 위해 피드백을 촉진시키는 역할을 한다. 또한 백워드 설계를 적용한 체육수업에서 학생 중심 평가는 자기 주도적 학습능력의 촉진, 수업 참여도 및 수업 만족도 향상, 교우관계의 증진에 도움 이 된다. 이러한 점을 바탕으로 논의한 결과 백워드 설계를 적용한 체육수업의 효과적인 설계방안으로 먼저 교사는 백워드 설계의 단계에 따라 평가계획을 수립을 한 후에 평가도구를 개발하고 교사 관찰평 가, 학생 상호평가, 자기평가 등 다양한 평가방법 중 수업의 특성에 적합한 평가 방법을 선택하고 적용 해야 한다는 점을 도출 할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 토대로 백워드 설계를 적용한 체육수업을 보완 및 발 전시킨다면 향후 학교현장에서 백워드 설계를 적용한 효과적인 체육수업 설계에 도움이 될 것이다.

영어초록

This study conducted physical education class with backward design and its effect on students, the meaning of physical education class with backward design that teachers and students viewed, and the effective physical education design plan with backward design. For this purpose, the 4th grade challenge and competition area guidance plan was established through backward design, and applied to the class of 4th graders (male 9, female 8) in Seoul for 12 weeks. The data for the study were collected through teacher journals, student evaluation sheets, student testimony, and interviews, and analyzed using inductive data analysis. The results from the study are as follows. First, the study participants who participated in the physical education class with backward design showed positive changes in understanding of exercise knowledge, improvement of athletic performance, satisfaction of sports class, confidence, and cooperative ability. Second, physical education class applied backward design plays a role in integrating curriculum, class and evaluation, and in promoting feedback for student growth and development. In addition, student-centered evaluation in physical education class with backward design is helpful in promoting self-directed learning ability, improving class participation and class satisfaction, and improving friendship. Based on these points, as a result of the effective design of physical education class applying backward design, the teacher first established an evaluation plan according to the stage of backward design, then developed an evaluation tool, and various evaluation methods such as teacher observation evaluation, student mutual evaluation, and self evaluation. The evaluation method should be selected and applied according to the characteristics of the class. Based on the results of this study, supplementing and developing physical education classes with backward design will help design effective physical education classes with backward design in school sites in the near future.
