한글 자음 색채화 가능성 연구- 우리말 색채어 중심으로 - (A Study on Likelihood of Coloring Hangul Consonants- Focused on Korean Color Terms)

초록

우리말 순수 색채어는 오행 사상이 지닌 木, 火, 土, 金, 水의 다섯 가지 색채 메타포인 파랑, 빨강, 노랑, 하양, 검정의 다섯 가지이다. 이 다섯 색채어의 대표 자음인 ㅍ, ㅂ, ㄴ, ㅎ, ㄱ을 오행에 도입하여 한글 색채화 가능성 모델을 만든다면 보다 한국인의 색채 정서에 맞는 시스템을 만들 수 있으리란 생각에서 본 연구를 시작하였으며, 우리말 색채어를 활용해 한글 자음 색채화 모델을 만드는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 우리말 색채어를 중심으로 한글을 색채화 하기 위하여 파랑은 풀인 木에 대응하므로 ㅍ은 파랑에 배속하고, 빨강은 불인 火에 대응하므로 ㅂ은 빨강에 배속하고, 노랑은 땅(누리)인 土에 대응하므로 ㄴ은 노랑에 배속하고, 하양은 쇠인 金에 대응하므로 ㅎ은 하양에 배속하고, 검정은 가라(물)인 水에 대응하므로 ㄱ은 검정에 배속하였다. 본 연구는 한글 가획의 원리를 가색 시스템에 적용하기 위하여 어도비 컬러 시스템의 c, m, y, k 모델을 사용하였다. 대표 자음의 컬러는 우리말 색채어의 특성을 기반으로 원색과 검정을 사용하였다. 자음의 배속은 우리말 한글 자음 특성을 기반으로 오행의 순행 단계를 맞추어 세분화 하여 색채를 배속을 하였다. 우리말 색채어를 중심으로 한글 색채화 가능성 모델을 만들고자 한 것은 한글 색채화에 대한 가능성을 제시하며 한국인의 색채 정서에 맞고 이해하기 편리한 시스템을 만들고자 하였다.

영어초록

Korean color terms are five colors: blue, red, yellow, white and black, the color metaphors of the five phases of tree, fire, earth, iron and water (木, 火, 土, 金, 水) in Five Elements Theory.
This study started from an idea that introducing ㅍ, ㅂ, ㄴ, ㅎ and ㄱ, the representative consonants of these five color terms representative consonants to the Five Elements System and making a likelihood model of coloring Hangul would make a system that would be more suitable for the colors of emotions in Korean, and it aims to make a model of coloring Hangul consonants using the Korean color terms.
To color Hangul based on the Korean color terms, since blue color corresponds to grass 木 , ㅍ was attached to the position of 木; since red color corresponds to fire 火, ㅂ was attached to that of 火; since yellow color corresponds to earth (world) 土, ㄴ was attached to that of 土; since white color corresponds to iron (Soe) 金, ㅎ was attached to that of 金; and since black color corresponds to Gara (water) 水, ㄱ was attached to that of 水. This study used Models C, M, Y and K on the Adobe Color System to apply the principle of stroke addition in Hangul to the system of color addition for convenience. As the colors of the representative consonants, unmixed colors such as primary colors, white color and black color were used based on the characteristics of the Korean color terms, and of the representative consonants, each consonant was subdivided based on the five stages of the five elements on the basis of the characteristics of Hangul consonants and a color was attached to it.
The likelihood model of coloring Hangul based on the Korean color terms is made to suggest a new possibility of coloring Hangul and at the same time to make a system that fits color sentiments and is easier to understand.
