전통민요와 대중가요 노랫말 비교 연구 -논매는 소리와 어사용, 도시형 트로트 노랫말에 나타난말하기 방식을 중심으로- (A Comparison between Traditional Korean Folk Songsand Popular Song's Lyrics -Focusing on the Speaking Methods of Lyrics in Nonmaeneun- sori(rice-paddy weeding song)&Eosayong, Urban-type Trot-)

초록

본 연구는 전통민요 노랫말에 나타난 말하기 방식과 대중가요 노랫말에 나타난 말하기 방식을 대비하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 경북지역 논매는 소리와 어사용, 도시형 트로트를 대상 자료로 한정하여 노랫말에 나타나는 화자의 말하기 방식을 살펴보기로 한다.
논매는 소리가 노동 공동체를 대표하는 남성의 목소리로 현장에서 행위나 상황을 묘사 혹은 설명하면서 작업을 독려하고 노동의 힘듦을 탄식하는 반면 어사용은 남성과 여성의 목소리를 활용하여 노동과 신분적 불만, 현재 처한 상황의 고통을 탄식하는 양상을 보인다. 반면 도시형 트로트는 남성 목소리로 말하되 누구나 공감할 수 있는 그리움과 외로움의 감정을 서술자 혹은 일인칭 화자 시점에서 독백하는 방식으로 전하고 있다.
이러한 차이는 다음과 같은 요인에 의해 촉발되었다고 할 수 있다. 첫째, 자발적으로 만들어져서 전승, 향유된 노래와 자본의 기획에 의해 만들어진 노래가 지니는 차이, 둘째, 노동과 같은 일정한 기능을 수행하는 노래와 유희적 기능에 한정된 노래가 지니는 차이, 셋째, 부르는 자와 듣는 자가 구분이 없는 노래와 부르는 자와 듣는 자의 구분이 분명한 노래가 보이는 차이, 넷째, 공동체 혹은 특정집단의 연대감을 기반으로 부르는 노래와 불특정 다수를 대상으로 한 대중성 지향의 노래가 보이는 차이가 그것이다.
그러나 이들이 담고 있는 세계인식과 정서적 반응은 유사하다. 그것은 받아들이지 않을 수 없는 세계와 그것을 수용할 수밖에 없는 현실에 대한 화자 반응이다. 화자는 노래를 통해 갈등을 해결하지 못한 내적 상황을 그대로 노출한다. 화자는 토로나 원망, 신세한탄이나 탄식 혹은 아쉬움, 쓸쓸함 같은 정서적 표현을 통해 받아들일 수 없는 상황, 극복 불가능한 상황에 처한 자신의 입장에 대해 호소하거나 탄식한다. 논매는 소리, 어사용, 도시형 트로트 노랫말을 통해 나타나는 말하기 방식은 각각 향유방식, 기능, 시공간적 배경 등의 차이를 보이지만 화자가 전달하고자 하는 정서와 세계인식 및 태도는 유사한 일면을 지니고 있다. 이를 통하여 전통사회 평민 남성들이 공유했던 정서와 세계인식이 근대화 산업화 시대 이후 도시형 트로트를 통해서도 지속되고 있음을 알 수 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to compare a speaking method which was shown in the lyrics of traditional Korean folk songs, and a speaking pattern which was indicated in the lyrics of popular song. For this, the speaking methods which are shown in the lyrics, were examined targeting Nonmaeneun-sori (rice-paddy weeding song), Eosayong and Urban-type Trot in Gyeongbuk area. As for the Nonmaeneun-sori, a male speaker encourages or laments over a work with depicting or describing specific action or situation based on the On-site. On the other hand, Eosayong is expressing a sigh or a lamentation by positively utilizing both sides of the voices in a male speaker and a female speaker. On the contrary, the Urban-type Trot is being delivered with a method of speaking about the missing and lonely feelings with which everybody can sympathize from the narrator's point of view while speaking with a male narrator's voice, or with a method of reciting a monologue from the protagonist narrator's point of view.
These things have the difference between a song which was transmitted by having been made voluntarily, and a song, which was made by planning, the difference between a song which performs diverse functions such as labor, and a song which is limited to playful function, the difference of being possessed by a song that is completely different between a distribution method and a consumption method, the difference between a song without the division of a singer and a listener, and a song with the distinct division of a singer and a listener, and the difference of being possessed by a song which is sung on the basis of community or specific group, and a song of pointing to universality targeting the unspecified individuals.
However, it is similar in the world perceptions and emotional responses that these things contain. A speaker's response to the world, which cannot help accepting it, and to the reality which has no choice but to accept the situation, literally exposes the aspect that failed to solve the conflict. A narrator who is speaking without solving the internal conflict appeals for a situation, which cannot be accepted, or for a situation, which cannot be overcome, through emotional responses like expression or resentment, own misfortune, sigh or regret, lonesomeness. The speaking methods, which are shown through Nonmaeneun-sori(rice-paddy weeding song), Eosayong, Urban- type Trot, indicate difference, respectively. However, its hidden side can be known to be containing the similar world recognition and emotional response.
