초록

This study looked at the artist's house museum from the point of view of sociology of art. Art museums have an organic relationship between art and society. The artist's house museum refers to a place where the house or studio where an artist in the field of art lived was turned into an art museum. The space where the artist actually resides has the specificity and realism of the place, and is differentiated from existing art museums. Visitors can experience the art creation process and the source of inspiration for the artist while experiencing the artist's private space firsthand. This creates a common experience with the artist. In addition, creating an artist’s house museum is a meaningful preservation activity for future generations as important cultural and artistic assets of the region. As it is thought that an in-depth study of the artist's house museum is necessary, the foreign artist's house museum was considered as a precedent for the revitalization of the domestic artist's house museum. Although the study of domestic artists' house museums is in its infancy, there are various artists' house museums abroad with a long history. Therefore, based on the ‘Modified Cultural Diamond’ of the sociology of art, the overseas artist’s house art museum was analyzed from various aspects and its characteristics were drawn.
