우하량 유적 적석총의 축조 목적 再考 (Rethinking the Build Process of the Stone Mound Tombs in NiuHeLiang)

초록

우하량(牛河梁) 유적은 2003년 공식적으로 발굴이 완료됐다. 현재도 관련 유적들의 보존과 발전을 위한 연구는 꾸준하게 계속된다. 1983년에 확인된 대규모 적석총 군의 존재는 동북 지역의 신석기 시대 후기 적석총 해석에 중요한 자료를 제공했다. 본 논문에서는 당시 적석총이 축조된 목적과 사회적 특징을 매장 방법과 출토 유물에 관한 비교·분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 중국 동북 지역에 있는 적석총에 관한 연구는 국내외 학자들에 의해 꾸준하게 진행되었지만, 위계 구조 집단의 출현 여부에 집중되면서 적석총 무덤 속성의 특징인 축조목적과 거주인의 세계관, 생존 능력과 정신문화의 관계는 불투명한 상태다. 현재도 동북 지역의 신석기 시대 후기 적석총 사회들의 한시적 역학관계를 반영하는 출토 유물들이 대규모 공동체 사회의 특정 위계 집단과의 상관관계 맥락으로 해석되는 문제점은 계속되고 있다. 우하량 서로 다른 지점 적석총(제2, 3, 5, 16지점) 내부의 매장 관습과 출토 유물의 특징을 비교·분석한 결과 자유로운 매장 방법들과 부장품 옥기 특징의 자유로운 변화 양상을 확인했다. 당시 우하량 적석총의 축조 목적을 알 수 있는 고고학문화의 특징은 크게 세 가지다. 첫째는 서로 다른 위치에서 행해진 매장 방법들의 발견이고, 둘째는 생동감 있고 자유로운 부장품 옥기의 종류 와 그것을 사용하고 관리한 자의 변화, 셋째는 구성원의 이동 및 교류행위가 자유로웠던 적석총 사회 구조의 특징이다. 이를 바탕으로 대규모 씨족 사회 집단 구성원들 사이의 영역 표시 수단의 특징이거나, 농경 정착 사회의 규격화된 집단묘로 알려진 우하량 유적 적석총이 축조된 목적을 재고찰하였다.

영어초록

The sites of NiuHeLiang(우하량) officially excavated in 2003. Even now, studies for the preservation and development of related relics continue steadily. The presence of large-scale Stone mound tombs identified in 1983, provided essential data for the interpretation of Stone mound tombs in the Late Neolithic Period in the Northeast. In this paper, the process and social features of the build of the stone mound tombs at that time examined through comparative analysis on burial methods and excavated artifacts. The study of the Stone mound tombs in northeastern China has steadily conducted by scholars at home and abroad. The relationship between the purpose of the construction and the resident’s mental world view, viability, and spiritual culture, which is characteristic of the Stone mound tombs, is unclear as it concentrated on whether or not the hierarchical structure is mass-produced. Even now, the problem continues that excavated artifacts reflecting the temporary dynamics of the late Neolithic society in the Northeast region interpreted as the context of the correlation between specific hierarchical groups in large-scale community societies.
A comparative analysis of burial methods and characteristic burial relics found inside the burial gun(the 2, 3, 5, and 16th of NiuHeLiang) confirmed free burial methods and free changes in private burial excellent jade properties. At that time, three main archaeological culture properties show the purpose of the construction of the Stone mound tombs in NiuHeLiang. First, the discovery of burial methods conducted in different locations. The second lively and free type and use of burial goods jade and the change of manager(specialist). The third is the characteristic of the social structure of the Stone mound tomb’s social members’ movement and exchange activities were free. Based on this, the process of the build of the sites of NiuHeLiang(우하량), known as the standard group tomb of the agricultural settlement society, was reconsidered.
