초록

본 연구에서는 2022 개정 중등 사회과 교육과정 일반사회 영역의 체제와 내용을 2015 개정 중등 사회과 교육과정과 비교하여 분석하였다. 우선 체제상으로는 교과목 편제에서 중학교 ‘사회’ 일반사회 영역은 변화가 없었으나 고등학교 선택 과목 체제에는 변화가 있었고, 내용 체계의 형식은 중학교와 고등학교 모두 ‘지식･이해’, ‘과정･기능’, ‘가치･태도’로 내용 요소를 나누어 제시하는 형태로 변화하였다. 고등학교 선택 과목의 수는 증가하여 총 성취기준 수가 증가하였으나 한 선택 과목당 성취기준 수는 줄었다. 다음으로 성취기준 내용상으로는 첫째, 가치･태도 학습 요소를 포함한 성취기준의 수가 늘어났고 특히 참여하는 시민의 역할이 강조되었다. 둘째, 디지털 기초소양교육, 민주시민교육 등 사회 변화에 따른 국가･사회적 요구사항이 상당히 반영되었다. 셋째, 교과 내용을 학생의 일상에 적용하도록 하는 등 삶과의 연계성이 드러나는 성취기준이 늘어났다. 넷째, 중학교는 학습 난이도 하향 조정 요구로 인해 지식･이해 내용 요소가 다소 줄었으나 고등학교 선택 과목은 모학문의 특성이 강화되면서 이론적으로 심화된 지식･이해 내용 요소가 다수 포함되었다. 이와 같은 변화와 관련하여 개선할 점에 대해 논의하였다.

영어초록

This study examined the system and contents of the 2022 revised secondary school social studies curriculum through comparison with the 2015 revised secondary school social studies curriculum. First of all, in terms of system, there was no change in the subject system of middle school social studies curriculum, but there was a change in high school elective subject system. And the form of the content system was changed to presenting the content elements divided into ‘knowledge & understanding,’ ‘process & skills,’ and ‘value & attitude’ in both middle and high school. And the number of high school elective subjects increased, so the total number of achievement standards increased, but thenumber of achievement standards per subject decreased. Next, in terms of the content of the achievement standards, first, the number of achievement standards including value and attitude learning elements increased, and the role of participating citizens was especially emphasized. Second, national and social requirements resulting from social changes, such as basic digital literacy education and democratic citizenship education, were significantly reflected. Third, achievement standards that reveal connections with life, such as applying subject matter to students’ daily lives, have increased. Next, the change in the achievement standard was confirmed. Fourth, in middle school, the knowledge and understanding content elements were somewhat reduced due to the request to lower the learning difficulty level, but high school elective subjects included many theoretically advanced knowledge and understanding content elements as the characteristics of academic disciplines were strengthened. We discussed what needs to be improved in relation to these changes.
