유아교사들의 양성평등교육 경험에 대한 연구 (The study on the experience of Gender Equality Education in kindergarten teachers)

초록

이 연구의 목적은 유아교육기관 교사들이 경험한 양성평등교육을 이해하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 본 연구에서는 공립유치원에 근무하고 있는 유아교사 13명과 심층면담을 실시하여, 양성평등교육 경험에 대한 자료들을 수집하고 분석하여 결과를 제시하였다. 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 양성평등교육과 관련하여 먼저, 유아교사들은 일상생활 속에서 경험할 수 있는 환경적 조건에 따른 영향의 중요성을 나타내었다. 둘째, 유아교사들은 양성평등교육의 필요성을 인식하고는 있었다. 그러나 다른 교육 활동들에 비하여 활동 접근과 개념의 모호함으로 인한 어려움들과 직접적으로 활용하기 위한 교수매체들의 부족함, 그런 상황 속에서도 실천하고자 노력하고 있는 자세들을 드러내었다. 셋째, 유아교사들은 유아를 위한 양성평등교육에 있어서 유아에게 가장 밀접하게 접근되어 있으면서 기초적인 환경적 조건의 토대가 될 수 있는 가족이라는 환경을 강조하였다. 이러한 환경 속에서 경험하게 되는 부모 모델링을 통한 교육적 접근의 중요성을 나타내었다. 넷째, 유아교사들은 유아들이 또래와의 관계 속에서 경험할 수 있는 영향들을 강조하면서 유아가 함께 어울리는 또래의 특성에 따라 서로 닮아져 가게 됨을 나타내었다. 다섯째, 교사들은 유아교육 현장에서 이루어지는 양성평등교육에 대해 같은 위치에서 ‘같음과 다름’을 존중해 주고 인정해 주는 것으로 나타내었다.

영어초록

The object of this study was to understand on experience of Gender Equality Education of kindergarten teachers. For this purpose, the data was presented by using the analysis of case study and was collected by In-depth interview of 13 teachers at public kindergartens.
The main findings were as follows. First, in relation to Gender Equality Education, kindergarten teachers spoke the importance of environmental influence experiencing in a daily life. Second, Even though kindergarten teachers recognized the necessity of Gender Equality Education, they should express difficulties of activity approach and the vagueness of concept compared with other activities, and the lack of teaching method to use directly in education field. But they showed attitudes to conduct Gender Equality Education. Furthermore, they emphasized development and adaption of various programmes, and the conduct of teachers education which could understand and practice easily. Third, kindergarten teachers emphasized family environment which was the most intimate and fundamental basis in Gender Equality Education. And they presented importance of educational approach through parenting modeling experiencing in this family circumstance. Fourth, teachers stressed influences of peer relationship and Children resembled each other by their joined group's characteristic. Fifth, we found that kindergarten teachers have been admitting and respecting in terms of "The same and differentiation" which was educating of gender equality in kindergarten.
Based on the results of this study, the study emphasized that the necessity of In-depth studies which is helpful the practice of Gender Equality Education, the preparation of programmes for kindergartners, and the studies to stimulate the active interest and practice of kindergarten teachers and parents.
