메이커 교육(Maker Education)에 기반을 둔 유아과학교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과 (The development and effects of an early childhood science education program based on maker education)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 창의적 융합인재를 양성하기 위하여 미래 세대의 교육방법으로 대두되고 있는 메이커 교육에 기반을 둔 유아과학교육 프로그램을 개발 하는데 있다. 이를 위해 국내외 메이커 교육, 유아과학교육 관련 국내·외 선행연구와 간행물 및 프로그램 관련 선행연구를 고찰하여 프로그램 개발의 이론적 준거를 도출하였고, 현장의 유아교사를 대상으로 메이커 교육 에 기반을 둔 유아과학교육 프로그램에 대한 인식 및 요구 정도를 알아보기 위해 면담조사를 실시하여 실제적 준거를 도출하였다. 프로그램의 1차 예비시안의 적합성과 적용 가능성을 살펴보기 위하여 연구자 평가, 프로그램 개발에 참여한 교사의 면담자료 뿐 아니라 전문가 집단의 평가를 실시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 1차 예비시안을 수정·보완하고 2차 예비시안을 작성한 다음 전문가와의 협의과정을 거쳐 메이커 교육에 기반을 둔 유아과학교육 프로그램의 최종프 로그램을 확정하였다. 개발된 프로그램은 A어린이집 만 4세 2개반 중 실험집단으로 믿음반 20명(남 9명, 여 11명)을 대상으로 24회기에 걸쳐 적용하였으며, 유아의 과학적 태도 및 문제해결력 향상에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 메이커 교육에 기반을 둔 유아과학교육 프로그램이 유아교육현장에서 효과적인 교수·학습방법으로 활용될 수 있는 이론적 근거와 교육적 가치가 있음을 시사해 주고 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to develop an early childhood science education program based on maker education, which is emerging as a future generation education method to cultivate creative convergence talents. Prior to developing the early childhood science education program based on maker education, a documentary analysis was carried out on previous researches and publications at home and abroad relevant to the maker education and the early childhood science education. An interview survey was conducted in order to examine the perception and demand level for the early childhood science education program based on maker education targeting the in-service early childhood teachers. To confirm the fitness of the preliminary draft for the devised program and the possibility of the field application, a pilot test program was implemented in a child care center located in Busan Metropolitan City. To figure out the suitability and the applicability in the primary preliminary draft of the program for the process of developing the early childhood science education program based on maker education, researcher evaluation and expert-group evaluation, as well as the interview materials of the teachers who participate in developing the program were carried out.
After modifying and supplementing the primary preliminary draft based upon the result, preparing the secondary preliminary draft, and then passing through the process of discussing with an expert, the final program was determined as the early childhood science education program based on maker education. To inquire into whether the early childhood science education program based on maker education, which was devised at the phase of developing the program, is effective for the promotion in young children's scientific inquiry attitude and scientific problem-solving ability, an experimental treatment test over 24 sessions was conducted targeting young children aged 4 in full. The result of this study can offer theoretical ground and implications for the early childhood science education program based on maker education to be utilized as an effective teaching-learning method in the field of early childhood.
