운영전>의 인간관계와 심리적 갈등에 대한문학치료학적 독해- 중국 대학의 <운영전> 교육론에 대한 성찰을 더하여 (A Literary Therapeutics analysis of character relationships and psychical conflicts in “Woonyeong-jeon” — “Woonyeong-jeon” education theory in a Chinese university)

초록

<운영전>은 조선 시대에 창작된 고대 소설 중에서 비극적 애정소설의 대표적 작품으로 연구사 또한 상당하다. 본고에서는 <운영전>의 비극적 사랑 이야기보다는 운영과 안평대군, 김진사와의 인간관계와 그 과정에서 겪게 되는 운영의 심리적 갈등에 대한 분석을 진행하고, 이와 더불어 <운영전>의 현재적 의미에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 즉 현재의 시각에서 운영의 삶과 죽음이 사람들에게 어떠한 문학적 치유 효과를 가져 올 수 있을까 하는 것을 고민하고자 한다. 그리고 이러한 시각을 문학치료학적인 관점에서 중국 대학의 <운영전> 교육론과 결부시켜 현대 중국 대학생들이 이 작품을 독해하는 과정에서 어떻게 작품의 서사를 자신의 ‘자기서사’와 관련지으며 자신의 삶과 내면을 점검하게 할 것인가 시도하였다.
문학치료학의 연구 방법에서 인간관계는 핵심적인 요소이며 그 중 가족관계는 기초적인 관계인바 이는 자녀서사, 남녀서사, 부부서사, 부모서사 4가지 관계로 나눈다. 본고에서는 기초서사의 맥락에서 운영과 안평대군, 김진사의 관계에 나타나는 순응과 저항, 개인적 욕망과 불안, 및 운영의 심리적 갈등을 살피며, 그것이 두 자아의 자책과 절망의 내적 갈등으로 이어지는 과정을 고찰했다. 즉 자녀서사, 부모서사, 남녀서사, 부부서사 등 인간관계의 좌절과 실패가 자아 내적 갈등에서 죄책감과 극단적 절망감을 불러일으켰으며 자살이라는 극단적 선택에 이르게 된 것이다.
지금까지 중국에서의 한국고전문학 작품은 한국어 의사소통 능력을 향상시키기 위한 수단으로 활용하거나 한국문화 교육의 소재로 활용되는 경우가 대부분이며 한국문학 교육을 위한 문학 교육에서도 한국의 대표적인 작가, 작품개관, 문학사 흐름에 대한 소개에 그치게 되는 경우가 많았다. 본고에서는 현대 중국 대학생들의 입장에서 <운영전>의 인간관계와 내적 갈등을 독해하고 어떻게 문학치료학에 적용시킬 것인지 고찰하였다.
현재 중국 대학생들은 학업과 대학생활, 인간관계 등으로 인한 스트레스가 큰 바 특히 인간관계 측면에서 좌절과 심리적 갈등이 더욱 심하다. 따라서 <운영전>의 인간관계와 내적 갈등을 이해하는 것은 중국 대학생들이 자신의 삶과 내면을 돌이켜보고 점검할 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있다. 즉 <운영전>은 자녀서사, 부모서사 영역에 있어서 현대 중국인들에게 부모와 자녀 관계를 어떻게 유지해 나갈 것인가에 대한 고민과 방황 등에 시사점을 주고 남녀서사, 부부서사 영역에 있어서 중국 젊은이들에게 남녀애정 관계를 점검해 보는 계기가 될 수 있다. 또한 <운영전>은 현실 사회에서 외로움과 고통, 내적 갈등과 아픔을 안고 살아가는 현대 중국 대학생들에게 심리적 갈등 치유의 텍스트로 활용할 수 있다. 본고의 <운영전>에 대한 고찰은 중국 대학에서 이루어지는 한국고전문학 교육에 대한 성찰과 새로운 교육론으로서 적용할 수 있는 문학치료학적 독해법을 고민한 시론적 접근이라고 할 수 있다.

“Woonyeong-jeon” is a classical Korean novel written in the Joseon Dynasty, which is famous as a typical tragic romance story, and it has been studied by many researchers.
This paper mainly aims to analyze and research the relationship of Woonyeong (운영) with Anpyeong daegun (안평대군) and Kim Jinsa (김진사) and the psychical conflicts that Woonyeong experienced during her interaction with other characters. In addition, it will analyze the significance of the Woonyeong-jeon story for people in modern times rather than treating it as a tragic romance story. In other words, this paper aims to use a modern perspective to research what therapeutic effectiveness reflections on Woonyeong’s life and suicide can bring to people nowadays. What’s more, this paper combines analysis of the Woonyeong-jeon story with analysis of the Woonyeong-jeon education theory at a Chinese university in terms of literary therapeutics and tries to find out what relation exists between this epic work and the self-epic created by Chinese college students and how they check their in­depth inner world with it.
According to studies on the methods of literary therapeutics, human relations are the most important factor of such study, and the family epic is the most basic relationship of human life. It is composed of four epic groups: son and daughter epic, man and woman epic, husband and wife epic, and father and mother epic. This paper analyzes the adaptation and resistance shown by Woonyeong in her relations with Anpyeong daegun and Kim Jinsa. It also discusses how the guilt and depression felt by both led to psychical conflict in the double self. In other words, the psychical conflicts resulted from the sense of frustration and failure felt between son and daughter epic, man and woman epic, husband and wife epic, father and mother epic, and this psychical conflict caused Woonyeong’s guilt and extreme depression, which led to her eventual suicide.
Up until recently, Korean classical literature education in China has been generally regarded as a way to improve Korean language and communication skills; in addition, it was also regarded as a part of Korean literature education, which only involves the study of Korean literary works and famous writers and an introduction to the works and history of Korean literature. By analyzing the psychical conflicts in the “Woonyeong-jeon,” this paper intends to work out how it can be used as a literary therapeutics text with regard to Chinese college students.
Nowadays, Chinese college students tend to feel stressed because of issues such as studying, relationships, etc. They are especially susceptible to such stress when they experience troubles and failure in relationships. Thus reading “Woonyeong-jeon” gives them an opportunity to think about their lives and inner world again. That is to say, through its son and daughter epic and father and mother epic, “Woonyeong-jeon” could provide useful suggestions for Chinese parents on how to deal with their relationships with their children. In addition, its man and woman epic and husband and wife epic could teach Chinese youth to think about their love relationships. Apparently, it is a good idea to use “Woonyeong-jeon” as a text to cure students who are still trying to survive in modern society, though they are held back by loneliness and pain because of psychical conflicts. This paper is a good attempt to make an introductory study on how literary therapeutics and relevant reading practices can be used as a new educational theory in terms of education related to Korean classical literature.
