초록

본 연구는 팬데믹 이후 공연예술계의 변화 움직임을 살펴보고, 디지털 트윈 기술 기반 가상 공연장 및 가상 공연 콘텐츠 제작 사례를 고찰함으로써 향후 공연예술 제작 환경이 변화해 나가야 할 길을 타진하는 것에 최 종 목적을 둔다.
이와 같은 목적의 달성을 위해 본 연구는 다음과 같이 진행되었다. 우선 첫 번째 장에서는 공연 실황 영상 및 실시간 스트리밍 공연 등 온라인 플랫폼으로 진출한 공연예술계 현황을 살펴보았다. 이후 이른바 메타버스 로 총칭되는 가상공간 영역으로 진출한 공연 사례를 살펴보며 그 한계점을 짚어보았다. 또한 시뮬레이션 등의 기능으로 타 산업에서 중용되는 디지털 트윈 기술의 개념과 공연예술 접목에 있어서의 가능성을 언급하였다.
본 연구의 두 번째 장에서는 디지털 트윈 개념을 적용하여 구축한 가상 공연장의 실제 사례를 제시하고 그 활용성에 관해 논하였다. 다음으로는 해당 공연장에서의 시연을 전제로 제작된 가상 공연 콘텐츠 제작 사례를 살펴보고 해당 콘텐츠가 작금의 공연예술계에 전하는 의의를 제시하였다.

This study aims to examine the changes in the performing arts industry since the pandemic and ascertain the direction in which the performing arts production environment should change. This is carried out by examining the cases of virtual performance halls and virtual performance content pro- duction based on digital twin technology.
To achieve this goal, this study was conducted as follows. In the first chapter, we looked at the current status of the performing arts world, which has entered online platforms such as live perform- ance videos and real-time streaming performances. After that, we looked at the performance cases that have advanced into the virtual space area, collectively referred to as the so-called metaverse, and pointed out the limitations. In addition, the concept of digital twin technology, which is used in other industries with functions such as simulation, and the possibility of incorporating it in perform- ing arts were mentioned.
In the second chapter of this study, an actual case of a virtual performance hall built by applying the digital twin concept was presented and its usefulness was discussed. Next, the examples of virtual performance content produced on the premise of a trial performance at the relevant hall were exam- ined, and their significance was presented to the current performing arts world.
In a time of unforeseen change, the performing arts industry is facing an unprecedented crisis. However, from a different perspective, it has also presented an opportunity to expand the industry. In such a situation, the new paradigm of the production environment captured through the performances produced by applying digital twin technology is accompanied by the inescapable demands of the times.
