삼공잽이 장단의 구성과 연행자의 인식 (The Composition of Samgongjebi Rhythm and The Perception of Performers)

초록

이 글은 동해안의 무악장단인 삼공잽이 장단을 중심으로 지옥가염불, 육자 이 세장단의 구성과 차이점을 밝히고 연행자 간의 상반된 인식과 장단의 실체에 대해 고찰한 글이다. 본고에서는 연행자 간의 상반된 인식들로 인해 기존의 연구물에 나타난삼공잽이 장단과 지옥가염불에 대한 문제점을 바로잡고, 연행자 간의 혼동의 원인을밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 따라서 실제 연행장소에서 녹음된 음원을 채보하여 각장단의 구성을 비교하였고, 여러 연행자들의 인터뷰를 통해 그 실체에 접근하였다.
징을 세 번 친다고 이름 붙여진 삼공잽이는 꽃노래, 등노래, 초롱등노래 등의 반주장단이다. 삼공잽이는 총 2장 구성의 장단으로 초장은 ♩.×8박의 무가와 간주가, 2장은 (♩.+♩.)×2박의 무가와 교대된다. 등노래의 초장은 예외적으로 ♩.×12박의 무가와 ♩.×8박의 간주가 교대되며 징은 간주의 1, 3, 5박에 출현한다.
장단명이 전해지지 않는 3장 구성의 지옥가염불은 장(章)구성과 징의 점수 등에서삼공잽이와는 확연한 차이점을 가지는 개별 장단이다. 초장은 연주자에 따라 (♩.+♩.
+♩)×12박 또는 16, 20박 등으로 구연되며 간주는 동일하게 (♩.+♩. +♩)×8박으로연주된다. 2장은 ♩.×8박의 무가와 간주가 교대하고 3장은 삼공잽이의 2장과 음악적으로 같다. 지옥가염불의 초장과 2장의 징의 점수는 네 번으로 간주의 제 1, 3, 5,6박에 나온다.
육자는 3장구성의 장단으로 꽃노래, 뱃노래 등을 긴 무가로 구연할 경우에 사용된다. 현행 오구굿의 오는 뱃노래 등에 사용되고 있으며, 초장은 (♩.+♩.+♩)×12박의무가와 간주가 교대하고 2장은 ♩.×8박의 무가와 간주가 반복된다. 3장은 삼공잽이의2장과 음악적으로 같고 초장과 2장의 징의 점수는 두 번으로 간주 1, 3박에 나온다.
이 세 장단들에 대한 혼동은 삼공잽이 장단을 지옥가염불 또는 육자와 혼동하는경우, 육자장단을 삼공잽이 또는 지옥가염불과 혼동하는 경우 등이 있다. 이러한 혼동들은 세 장단이 동일하게 포함하고 있는 ♩.×8(♩×12)－(♩.+♩.)×2의 구조에서 그원인을 찾을 수 있으며, 연행자들은 이를 ‘중모리’－‘굿거리형’의 형태로 인식하고있다.

영어초록

This paper, based on Samgongjebi rhythm, Muak rhythm, in the East Coast, investigates the composition of 3 rhythms－Jiokga-yeombul, Yukja and Samgongjebi and their differences; and then studies the directly-opposed perceptions between the performers and the true nature of rhythm. This paper aims to correct the problems regarding Samgongjebi rhythm and Jiokga-yeombul appeared in the precedent studies, due to the directly-opposed perceptions between the performers; and investigate the causes for the confusion between the performers. Thus, the sound source recorded in the place of performance was transcribed; the compositions of each rhythm were compared to each other; and then the true nature was approached through the interview with performers.
Samgongjebi is named because Jing is struck three times. And,Samgongjebi is accompaniment rhythm for Ggot-norae, Deung-norae, and Chorongdeung-norae. Samgongjebi is rhythm composed in 2 movements in total; in the first movement, ♩.×8 beats Muga and interlude take turns with,and in the second movement, (♩.+♩.)×2 beats Muga and interlude take turns.
Exceptionally, in the first movement of Deung-norae, ♩.×12 beats Muga and ♩.×8 beats interlude take turns, and Jing appears in beat 1, 3 and 5.
Jiokga-yeombul consisting 3 movements, whose name of rhythm is not passed down, is an individual rhythm which has distinction from Samgongjebi in the aspect of the composition of the movements and the strokes of Jing.
The first movement is played in (♩.+♩.+♩)×12 beats, 16 beats or 20 beats;the interlude is evenly played in (♩.+♩.+♩)×8 beats. In the second movement, ♩.×8 beats Muga and interlude take turns, and the third movement is the same as the second movement of Samgongjebi in the musical aspect. The first movement of Jiokga-yeombul and the strokes of Jing in the second movement is 4 times and appear in beat 1,3,5 and 6 of the interlude.
Yukja is rhythm consisting of 3 movements, and used in case Ggot-norae and Baet-norae are played in long Muga. It is used in Oneun-baetnorae of current Ogugut. In the first movement, (♩.+♩.+♩)×12 beats Muga and interlude take turns, and in the second movement, ♩.×8 beats Muga and interlude are repeated. The third movement is the same as the second movement of Samgongjebi in the musical aspect, and the strokes of Jing in the first and the second movement is two times, appearing in beat 1 and 3.
The confusion about these three rhythms are caused by the confusion between rhythm and Jiokga-yeombul or Yukja, and the confusion between Yukja rhythm and Samgongjebi or Jiokga-yeombul. The cause of this confusion can be found in structure of ♩.×8 (♩×12)－(♩.+♩.)×2 identically contained in these 3 rhythms and the performers perceive this as ‘Jungmori’-‘Gutguri type’.
